I have been a lurker for many years and spend a lot of time here every day. The articles that Freepers post give me much to think about and for that I thank all of you.

I finally registered because at times I am embarrassed by comments made here by people who are on the same side of the issues as myself. Either because they don’t read an article or don’t want to hear anything other than the points we all agree on they write things that wind up being used against all of us who consider ourselves to be to the right of center.

Our country is facing many serious problems and we need to be well informed and speak out in a more civilized manner than so many of our opponents on the left.

Please don’t hold it against me that I spent 25 years toiling at the Los Angeles Times. I did my best, with some but not a lot of success, at pointing out biases that were so prevalent in the LAT newsroom. While some there did have their eyes opened by my efforts most were not the least bit interested in any self examination of their possible problems with seeing the other side of issues.
