I am a Vietnam Era Conservative from the MidWest. I still believe WF. Buckley’s advice about working to elect the most conservative candidate in each district/state/National race that can ACTUALLY get elected there. Not a fan of communism or communists. Believe our social safety nets should be a hand up, not a lifetime hand out. I am for legal immigration, perhaps in great numbers but require vetting of the persons coming in and their reliability to self sustain quickly. I have had a job since I was 5 and often more than one and believe that capitalism has tremendously improved the way of life for Western civilization.
I change my mind when I discover or am persuaded that I was wrong and I refrain from attacking other posters. Have been here a long time and am impressed by the information shared and the willingness to educate others here.
