"Terrorist attacks can shake the foundations of our biggest buildings, but they cannot touch the foundation of America. These acts shatter steel, but they cannot dent the steel of American resolve."

Conservative American of Iranian descent. I'm very active in the Republican party having worked on fifteen different campaigns, been president of various college Republican groups, county level groups and nationwide conservative groups. I've also started two political organizations. I'm also a recognized foreign policy expert and author.

My Platform:
< Abortion: The fetus is a human being who has rights independent of its mother's rights. While abortion under certain circumstances might be tolerated, (such as rape, incest) the basic rights belong to the fetus, not the mother

Affirmitive Action: Affirmative Action is better described as Reverse Discrimination. Quotas based on race and gender are wrong, whichever race or gender they favor. Under-represented groups should fend for themselves without government intervention.

Same-sex marriage: Homosexuals should be treated with equal respect as other members of society, not treated as criminals. However, there are certain cases where homosexuality should not be pushed such as television and before the Church, and i'm against the concept of Same-Sex marriage.

Organized Prayer: Prayer in schools is inappropriate because it fails to recognize American pluralism and religious diversity. Organization of a religion makes those who are minorities in faith feel as if they are left out and therefore shunned. Prayer should be kept to ones private self. However, free speech and freedom of press allows us to express ourselves, and if a child wishes to display the ten commandments in class then they should be allowed to.

Death Penalty: The death penalty and other strict forms of law enforcement will reduce the crime rate by removing criminals from the streets and by deterring others from criminal acts. Capital punishment laws should be enforced, although perhaps adjusted to ensure a fair process and to avoid mistakes. Modern forensic science should be used more often.

Gun control: It's not the instrument, it's the morality. Gun ownership should not be restricted - most gun owners use them safely and responsibly. To reduce gun-related crimes, address the moral problems of society and other issues. Work more towards education of the un-educated towards more gun awareness and help reduce tragic occurances.

Federal funding for health care: Nationalized health care would entail a government takeover of a large portion of the economy and undue intrusions into our personal medical histories. Remove the federal government from the health care industry.

Social security: Our retirement funds should not be entrusted to the government. The entire Social Security system should be run instead as we currently run IRAs, Keogh plans, 401(k)'s, and other private pension plans

Global warming: We should establish a market-based solution for excess carbon emissions, and the problem will be solved. The Kyoto Protocol should require developing countries' participation to make the solution work

Drug use: We should have immense deregulation of drugs. The drug war has cost us over 15 billion dollars and drug use has gone as a result. Every single person in congress agrees the drug was is a failure, however, few know the way to decrease drug use is to legalize it.

Flat tax: A Flat Tax would simplify the entire tax system. It would get rid of loopholes that drive tax-avoiding behaviors. And it would remove most deductions and the special interests that come with them.

Immigration: Immigration restrictions are essential. We should reform US immigration laws.

Free trade: Free trade is always in the people's interest. We should have open trade with every country in the world. The government has no right to make restrictions on imports or exports

Armed forces: We should consider carefully before making more cuts - for example, base closings have hurt local economies, and reducing military personnel has put pressure on employment.

Foreign Policy: Strong financial, moral, and political support for our allies, and pro-American movements across the world. Taking a hard-line stanch against regimes that threaten America and/or our allies.

I'm a proud American and also proud of my Persian heritage and background.

Law schools and the legal profession are currently strongly dominated by a form of orthodox liberal ideology which advocates a centralized and uniform society. While some members of the academic community have dissented from these views, by and large they are taught simultaneously with (and indeed as if they were) the law.

The Federalist Society for Law and Public Policy Studies is a group of conservatives and libertarians interested in the current state of the legal order. It is founded on the principles that the state exists to preserve freedom, that the separation of governmental powers is central to our Constitution, and that it is emphatically the province and duty of the judiciary to say what the law is, not what it should be.

The Society seeks both to promote an awareness of these principles and to further their application through its activities. This entails reordering priorities within the legal system to place a premium on individual liberty, traditional values, and the rule of law. It also requires restoring the recognition of the importance of these norms among lawyers, judges, and law professors.

In working to achieve these goals, the Society has created a conservative and libertarian intellectual network that extends to all levels of the legal community.

Thomas Jefferson:

"What country before ever existed a century and a half without a rebellion? And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon & pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants. It is its natural manure."
