I've been running a small mutual fund for 5 years which I founded and operates from proprietary quantitative artificial intelligence models. A full time/part time venture, really. Presently looking for full time employment in investment analysis, data modeling or project management (or even a totally new career!-- there isn't much call for AI Analysts these days). My previous employer, an e-commerce solutions provider, went bankrupt, laying off 100% of the roughly 300 people. And the employer before that laid off 7 of the 8 employees (it was a small, 5 year old startup). Both of these layoffs have occurred in the last 12 months-- very frustrating to say the least but I persist. :)
