Joined the US Army - Infantry in 1983
'83 - '87 Stationed with 1 Bn 52nd Infantry (mech), Bamberg, Germany (Made E5, tried to join SF but could not due to knee injury)
'87 - Dec '89 Stationed at Ft Leavenworth, KS (Range Saftey and training Officer and Garrison NCOIC)
Dec '89 Left the service (stayed in Leavenworth, KS) and kicked around for a while
'90 - '93 Went to work in the Dept of Army as a Civilian (Met my future wife from St Mary's College during an April fools day parade)
'93 - '95 Left government service and went to the Bay area working for EDS
'95 - '00 Joined Cisco Systems as a network engineer. Moved to Denver CO (now with 2 girls and obtained my CCIE #2024). Became the Sr Network Architect for Cisco's Global voice and data backbone. Moved to Cisco's Fortune 200 consulting group NSA and consulted with CIO's on policy and procedures to improve security and availability of their networks
'00 Left Cisco for a VP position at a Western regional VAR (MSN Communications) as head of professional services. (got my boy)
'01 Completed additional Cisco certifications for networking (CCNA, CCDA, CCDP) and the industry standard security certification CISSP #25434
'02 Left MSN for a temp CTO position with Avaya developing the end to end IP achitecture.
02 Left Avaya to work for by IBM Global Services in their Network Consulting Practice as the delivery leader for Network Security
'10 had to leave IBM due to health issues preventing my traveling and joined Verizon Business.
'14 My group within Verizon was laid off so I returned to IBM in '15.
'15 - '16 Worked for IBM in the global resiliency group. IBM decided to try and run the group out of India so they laid off the whole team.
'17 Joined FIS Global (now Capco) as their lead Cyber Security Architect for the RISC practice.
Currently reside in Thornton, CO with my wife and two of my three kids.
