John Dingell's death grip on power

If your family has held onto a congressional seat for over 75 years, if you were first elected when a veteran of the Civil War was still alive, if you are the longest serving member of the House of Representatives in history, one might say your power is pretty well entrenched.

But for Rep. John Dingell, 84, that death grip on power may be slipping.

In a recent poll, Dingell was down four points to his Republican challenger Rob Steele, a doctor who has never run for political office before. Steele said his patients often tell him they think it’s time Dingell retire after a (very) long, good run.

I’m on your side with regards to term limits. The biggest problem that I can see is that the pols have no fear of the voters, so they jump from office to office passing every dream program/policy/regulation that they darn well please.

The only way this is going to change is when the money runs out, have observed human nature for quite a while. My observation is that cashflow affects management more than management affects cashflow. If I win the lottery tomorrow, I make poor decisions, if I lose my job, I make better decisions. A good reason to keep churches poor.

The question is how will the money run out? How long will it take. In business most poor managers keep going until the bank finally says no. Then it is the banks fault for causing the problem.

I know what is going to happen, I just don't know how or when.

I’m not sure, via any polls. However, I do see some of his signs around and I haven’t seen any Conyers signs...So it is my opinion that he is smashing him!

Socialist-Marxist idiots have infiltrated the medical profession and have, to a large extent, taken over the AMA. (BTW, the AMA membership as a percentage of physicians in the US, is less than 20%.) But if all the physicians in the US were to be allowed to vote Obamacare up or down, Obamacare would lose in a landslide! So the socialist-Marxists are only a small, but powerful, minority within the medical profession. Dr. Steele represents the strong majority.

Interesting stat on the AMA membership. It is roughly the same percentage for the Michigan Nurse's Association (MNA), which is, in reality, a union. (I don't know about the American Nurses Association membership to working nurses ratio.) It galls me when the MNA spouts their socialist stuff and intimates that they represent ALL Michigan nurses.

The Dr. Steele sign is up on my lawn, but one can’t forget that this is the 15th District. We have Detroit and Ann Arbor in our district. Any wonder why Dingell has a lock on it?
