Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy has overtaken Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) nationally for second place in the GOP primary field, according to a Kaplan Strategies poll.

The poll, published on Monday, shows that 48 percent of GOP primary voters back Trump as he continues to dominate the field. Ramaswamy sits alone in second place with eleven percent, while DeSantis follows with ten percent:

2024 National Republican Primary:

Trump’s support is unchanged since Kaplan Strategies’ poll published in July, whereas DeSantis is down two points from when he and Ramaswamy were tied at twelve percent. The pair have been trending in opposite directions over the past few months, with Ramaswamy climbing and DeSantis sliding.

Former Vice President Mike Pence is on DeSantis’s heels with eight percent after doubling his support since the poll that was taken from July 17-18. From there, former Govs. Nikki Haley (R-SC) and Chris Christie (R-NJ) tie at four percent. Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) is down three points from July, garnering two percent in this poll, followed by Gov. Doug Burgum (R-ND) with one percent.

Kaplan strategies sampled 800 registered likely GOP primary voters from August 9-10, and the margin of error (MOE) is ± 3.5 percentage points.

Another poll published Monday shows Trump with an even stronger advantage over the field. The I&I/TIPP Insights poll found that 57 percent of

But Ron DeDumazz apparently ISN’T viewed as the most conservative candidate in the race by the vast majority of those asked on the subject. (i.e. polled).

As I recall, that “other” guy you speak of (DT) actually WON the presidency in 2016 and 2020, and is ahead in the ‘24 primary polls by, oh, 40 points or so... and polling favorably against Jao Beijing as well.

And DT has conservative bona fides on the national stage, not just “tawk” nationally and a few accomplishments in one state with friendly legislators.

>> At the very least we owe President Trump to attend this and take Vivek apart

...sez the disingenuous habu-snake. You HATE President Trump. You are in favor of anything that has the potential of bringing him down — such as a debate moderated by other snakes of the mainstream media class.

Your mind would be completely made up before the debate began.

>>If that’s true, then why is he performing so badly?

Because the left is picking our candidate again with their blizzard of lawsuits, which they know would cause primary voters to rally to him. They don’t look too bothered that their legal jihad isn’t shaking primary voters away, do they? Thier plan is working.

The D’s play in our primaries every year. You’d think by now our voters would pick up on the fact the left is really good at getting the matchup that they want, with 2016 being the only time it has ever really backfired on them.

I was attacked for saying this.

If you have to remember, a year ago the polls showed that Biden would beat Trump in a rematch. But the same polls showed that he'll lose to DeSantis.

I'm sure that Biden's handlers got together and ordered the Deep State to persecute Trump so primary voters won't consider DeSantis who's the stronger candidate.

Guess what? It's working.

To the extent that RD isn’t “viewed” as the most conservative candidate in the race is simply because Trump voters will simply shout down anyone who points out all of his left-wing proclivities. Things like: catering to the alphabet mafia, his outright opposition to entitlement reform, his “soft spot” for “Dreamers” and H1B Visa applicants, his sop to gun grabbers with bump stocks, as if that’s going to do squat.

Trump won in 2016. He lost in 2020 because he was stupid and let the COVID fallout cripple his presidency and give the communists their unrealized dream of long election windows with unsupervised voting. His Senate picks in 2022 were, much like his admin personnel picks, utter dog excrement. And, polling “favorably” (read: slightly behind) the absolute worst president in US history means you’re a terrible candidate, perhaps the only candidate, capable of getting this 4-alarm dumpster fire reelected.

Unlike pundits like Hinderaker and Jacobson (et al), I don’t buy that theory. It’s too clever by half.

No, the truth is that the deep state uniparty HATES and FEARS Donald Trump. There’s no conspiracy or even hive-mind that has agreed that indictments => primary victory => general election loss. It’s nothing more than a cute fable all too happily spread by Trump haters of every stripe.

The various Departments of Injustice fully expect to damage President Trump irreparably — hopefully even disable him physically or kill him — because they fear his attaining power again. They are really that evil!

Anyone with eyes to see and ears to hear has internalized that truth by now. Except, of course, those who in their heart of hearts secretly cheer on those wicked Departments of Injustice, while claiming to have only the nation’s, and conservatism’s, best interests at heart.

Trump did a great job in his first three years and he was good with the judges.

He allowed Dr. Fauci and Sr. Birx to manipulate the narrative of the coronavirus pandemic. Fortunately, the governors of the red states like Kemp and DeSantis spoke out and they did a good job asserting for their states. Trump failed in his role.

Trump's legacy may bring us 8 years of Biden so I may have to give him a lower rating.

George W. Bush had a mixed record but he did bring us 8 years of Obama. Now Trump is going to bring us 8 years of Biden, who's even worse.

Yes, you are correct. The communists are shrewd and disciplined. Our voters are emotional and foolish.
