Making the rounds at Democratic fundraisers, former President Clinton has begun to articluate a way for the loyal opposition to attack the popular President Bush in the fall elections.
It boils down to this: Terrorists win if they shake up Washington so much that the administration diverts money needed for critical domestic programs to the war.
And guess what? Clinton said Bush was doing just that.
If it sounds familiar, it is.
Clinton made the same charges in 1992 when he beat former President Bush, claiming that the then President was too much of a foreign policy leader and a zero at home.
He laid out his battle plan this week at a Senate Democratic fundraiser hosted by powerhouse Washington lawyer Weldon Latham.

Well ... if all they have is the base - that's about 17% of the dem party. They won't get very far with that! Actually, WJC is just trying to win this for Hillary - it's not going to work. Clinton thinks the sheep are still asleep - he's wrong! The sheep are awake - the base of the dems might be buying it, but the rest of the dems are not!!!
And ... media or no media, this is a loser plan!

I send my money to Libertarians. Aren't those the guys in the Japanese monster movie who had the big ugly hats and the death rays shooting out of their eyes? I haven't heard of them in years.

I remember an editorial in the Wall Street Journal when Bill's Clinton won the Presidency.
WHO IS BILL CLINTON?
To: codebreaker
Clinton doesn't need to formulate a strategy to beat Bush. Bush is already beating himself.

So if we divert money from programs for which the federal governmnet has no constitutional mandate to national defense which is one of the legitimate roles of federal government to fight the war on terror, the terrorists win?
Only from the mind of a Democrat like Clinton! And if the voters buy this garbage, it will just be evidence that we have been corrupted by decades of socialism and have lost our way.
This guy has already proven he would sell out our country for political victory and it looks like he's going to try again.

Clinton doesn't need to formulate a strategy to beat Bush. Bush is already beating himself. At this point the polls show otherwise.

How do Democrates ever win an election? Answer: by scaring the ignorant masses into submission.

Some radical move like that by someone unwilling to play games is the only thing that's ever going to shake up the power structure in this country. If only there was a way to bring George Washington back from the dead.
To: Howlin
Is he advocating that we NOT spend money on the war????
Clinton doesn't know what the he!! he's advocating; neither does he care about the consequences. He never did.

One of the things Washington does well is create needs and crisis where none exist. They then convince people of their right to have these programs and how to get others to pay for them or they simply deficit finance them. We are now a country that is acquiring new credit cards to pay the old ones. The cupboard is bare. All the trust funds have been raided and the balance of payments imbalance is an indicator that what wealth is not stolen by the govt. is being transfered to foreign nations. All new generations of our kids are being born in crushing debt. We are truly a nation of slimeballs for letting this happen. Clinton is merely a reflection of ourselves.

Well the American electorate sure cannot. The crap we tolerate is truly mind boggling.

As long as you Bush worshipers do not mind the debt owed by your children and grandkids to further escalate by all means be backers of New Deal Bush. If you do not mind your country being further overrun by immigration both legal and illegal by all means back Bush. But what will you have accomplished? Just made yourself poorer and enabled Bush to fly around in Airforce One for four more years.

Bill Clinton looks like one of those aging Senior Golf Players with 'man breasts' X42, "Well Chelsey, you may have your momma's looks, but you got your daddy's hooters."

This "scoop" simply reflects the 'rats thinking. To wit, 9/11 was merely an annoying interruption from their top priorities of corrupt redistributive liberalism. However, the public is truly frightened, and a pitch that we should just get back to rolling the pork could backfire on them. During the Cold War, the Soviet threat was a non-issue for them. Now they want to ignore the threat of terrorism just as they did during the Clinton years, which brought about the current situation.
To: Torie
In fact, Bush has been doing a lot of domestic agenda-stuff that has been critisized as downright unconservative. That should preempt any democrappy accusations.
