The Hennepin County Medical Examiner has released the name of the third person killed at the scene on Thursday evening as Mustafa Ahmed Mohamed, 35. The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension confirmed Saturday that Mohamed shot and killed Officer Jamal Mitchell. Mohamed’s cause of death was listed as multiple gunshot wounds. Court records show that Mohamed had a criminal history dating back to 2006, including burglary and firearms charges. Officer Jamal Mitchell died at the hospital as a result of the shooting. SNIP

A 14-year-old boy was fatally shot at a Brooklyn public-housing project Sunday morning, police said. The victim, who has not been identified, was found with a gunshot wound to the chest after cops responded to a 911 call at the Howard Houses in Brownsville shortly before 10:30 a.m., the NYPD said. The teen was rushed to Brookdale Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, cops said.

Montreal police on Thursday launched an investigation after a Jewish school in the city was hit by gunfire, The Canadian Press reported. Police responded after they received information that projectile impacts were visible on the school located on Hillsdale Road in the city’s most populous borough, Côte-des-Neiges—Notre-Dame-de-Grâce. Law enforcement sources tell FOX 9 that one Minneapolis police officer has died after a gunman opened fire in a neighborhood south of downtown. In total, FOX 9 is told six people were shot during the incident: two officers and four citizens. Minneapolis police have confirmed two officers and at least four civilians were injured in the situation but nothing further at this point. A child is in a serious condition and three adults are in hospital after a shooting Wednesday near a restaurant in north-east London.
