Great outfit when I first joined in 1979.

They became too successful.

They had loads of cash laying around.

They decided they needed to do something with that money.

They started to hire more employees that were not needed.

They started to become a social services organization instead of an insurance company for military Officers.

Then, the board started to worry about everyone but their customers.

They needed to make San Antonio better for themselves and the employees.

They built a theme park in San Antonio.

They built a retirement community in San Antonio.

They went into the stock market.

They started to hire executives with little to no military experience.

They panicked over the military drawdown.

They opened up membership to Enlisted personnel.

They spent money like crazy on advertising.

The board loaded up with women who wanted to use the resources of USAA for their personal political and social goals.

Recently, the board decided to use the member’s money to hand out to their chosen sad stories.

USAA is no longer focused on being a low cost, quality auto insurance provider.

The board members need to resign and go to work for philanthropy organizations.

The new board members need to clean out the executives and focus on one thing: providing quality, low cost auto insurance to their members.

They also took $50 million of members money and gave it to terrorist organizations like BLM.

My membership began in ‘70, fresh out of OCS, Basic School. My how things have gone to rot since then. You sound like you have kept closer tabs on the company than I have. It’s another sorry example of devolution by useful idiots who came along after veterans came up with a great idea to serve fellow veterans by founding a once great insurance company.
