What a cool trailer! I know I'm crazy, but I loved Twister - yes it is pathetic, but I lived in that area of the country for so long and grew up with all of the warnings and sights and sounds of "tornado season".......

This movie is a absolutely going to be way over the top - and I'll probably love it too!

The do blame global warming, it's the plot of the film. I was going to post a freeper heads up but saw this thread. The trailer looks good but it doesn't even mention that part. I think were being set up with being beat over the head with a stealth liberal message. I wanted to see this at first but now I don't know. If I go and they try to blame America and us avoiding Kyoto as the cause of the disasters, I'm walking out.

Plot Summary for "The Day After Tomorrow",

"This movie takes a big-budget, special-effects-filled look at what the world would look like if the greenhouse effect and global warming continued at such levels that they resulted in worldwide catastrophe and disaster, including multiple hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes (I don't quite get the science of that one), tidal waves, floods and the beginning of the next Ice Age. At the center of the story is a paleoclimatologist (a scientist who studies the ways weather patterns changed in the past), Professor Adrian Hall (Quaid), who tries to save the world from the effects of global warming while also trying to get to his son, Sam (Gyllenhaal), who was in New York City as part of a scholastic competition, when the city was overwhelmed by the chilling beginnings of the new Ice Age. In addition to all of the other challenges Dr. Hall faces, he's also going against the flow as humanity races south to warmer climes, and he's nearly the only one going north... (Rossum plays another student, and Gyllenhaal's romantic interest; Ward plays Quaid's wife and Gyllenhaal's mother; Serrano plays Quaid's boss)"

Yes people, this is the movie with the great special effects that many have seen in previews. Tornadoes in LA, and a tidal wave in New York were front and center, the message wasn't even mentioned.

Last one. Go to the website, watch the trailer and see what's being sold to our kids.;

It was the only movie I was looking forward to see from previews I saw before "Master and Commander" until I found out about the plot. It's advertised as from the director of "Independence Day" Tell me I'm overreacting.

I saw this movie this evening. It is really nothing more than a liberal hit-piece. The "bad guy" in the film is a Cheney-lookalike Vice-President who finally gets religion (according to the gods of environmentalism) in the end. The acting is as bad as it gets, the story line is even worse. In fairness, the special effects are spectacular, but you have to get past the leftist propaganda to enjoy the cinematography--and that takes a real effort, believe me. In short, save your eight bucks!
