Lake Arrowhead, CA and the surrounding mountain forest area were hit by the bark beetle. We lost 11 pines on our 1/4 acre lot. If the pines have enough water, they can survive the beetle. Pat of the problem is drought and part of the problem is too many tree per acre. The envirowackos don't want the forests thinned to allow for healthy growth, so you get too many trees exsisting on too little water.

I hacve an acre here in east Tennessee. Got hit by the beetles several years ago and lost about 20 large pines. Only 2 or 3 survived. You have my condolences.

That house is right in the middle of a big potential bonfire all stacked up and ready to go.

I bet the poor sap isn't even allowed to cut down the dead trees to protect his property.

That's what victoria Island looks like now. The Northern half is almost completely brown, The south is probably dead after this year.
