Harrisburg, PA - Department of Health Acting Secretary Alison Beam today announced that the commonwealth’s mask order will be lifted by June 28.
“After reviewing the vaccination data for people 18 and over and discussing it with the COVID-19 Vaccine Legislative Task Force, we have determined that the commonwealth’s mask order can be lifted on June 28 or when 70 percent of adults get their second dose, whichever comes first,” Acting Secretary Beam said. “Pennsylvanians are realizing that they have the power to stop COVID-19 and they are stepping up to get vaccinated.”
“Yesterday we hit a milestone with 70 percent of adults receiving at least one dose of vaccine,” she said. “That’s a strong indicator that we are on track to get at least that many getting both doses by the end of June."
“The Department of Health will continue to make getting a vaccine as convenient as possible by making it widely available and supporting equitable and effective efforts to reach every Pennsylvanian who wants it.”
To date, 52.7 percent of the 18 and older population are fully vaccinated. According to the CDC, 97.7 percent of Pennsylvanians over 65 have received at least one dose of vaccine.
All Pennsylvanians age 12 and older are eligible to schedule a COVID-19 vaccine. People can find vaccination locations near them using Vaccines.gov, also known as Vaccine Finder.
Individuals also can text their zip code to GETVAX (438829) for English, or VACUNA (822862) for Spanish and receive three possible vaccination sites in their area.
Once the statewide masking order is lifted, Pennsylvania will continue to follow the CDC guidance for wearing a mask where required by law, rule, and regulations, including local business and workplace guidance. The CDC requires individuals to wear a mask on planes, buses, trains, and other forms of public transportation traveling into, within, or out of the United States, and in U.S. transportation hubs, such as airports and stations. In addition, all individuals should still follow guidance at workplaces, local businesses, long-term care facilities, hospitals, prisons and homeless shelters.

Nothing says constitutional like tying the return of freedom to an arbitrary vaccination percentage.

No offense, but that sounds alot like giving up some freedom, in the hopes that those who took your freedom, will give you back some freedoms.
The governors are confounding getting the vaccinations with wearing masks for preventing getting covid.
Given the fact that the WHO has said that the vaccinations are not intended to stop the covid from being contracted or transmitted and the CDC's report that 89% of the people who get covid were either wearing a mask all of the time or most of the time, I really do question the intelligence of those in charge over making these arbitrary decisions over people's lives.
Lift the mask mandate immediately instead of some arbitrary date like June 28th, let people get the vaccine if they want it and move on with life. This micromanaging people's lives when the authorities don't know what they are talking about, borders on criminal.
I haven't worn a mask since this so-called pandemic started. No vaccine. And no covid.

Many of the people in my Philly suburb have already lifted “the order” on their own. Signs are gone or masks are only “suggested” at store entrances in many places, esp. smaller stores and non-chain restaurants.
There are still those who have been so frightened that they wear their masks when walking alone outside, or in their car, or are isolating themselves almost completely, but the number seems to be dwindling! I would bet that some of those will never give up the mask.
About half of the people in our supermarket (customers & employees) were mask-free the other day when I went in. It was SO freeing to be able to walk thru’ the store and see other people’s faces again ... I had a smile on my face the whole time!

No matter how much you give a petty tyrant like Wolf, he will always fight to take more. The reason the mask rule is going to be lifted at the end of June is that he knows he can't keep it in place any longer, because he would if he could.
It took two constitutional amendments to rein in his abuse of authority because the state supreme court is in his pocket and rewrote the emergency authority law for him. The state is currently slow walking the certification of the primary election that approved the constitutional amendments, which will take until I think June 7th, and then if they think they can get away with it, Wolf will then claim that because it's a new authority it can't be applied retroactively to rescind the emergency order from last year (and the supreme court, which again is in his pocket, will agree with him) so he will extend the emergency for another 21 days (the new constitutional limit for emergency declarations without legislature approval), which coincidentally brings us to June 28th. Then the dumbass is going to go on a victory tour telling the state how lucky they are to have his generousity.
Before the primary election, there was no "or 28 June" because he was going to keep the state on lockdown until that arbitrary 70% number was reached, which it wouldn't be.

I was just out with my daughter, down your way Lightman at Miller Plant Farm, barely anyone was wearing a mask. My daughter although, has been so conditioned that she just automatically wears one. I told her, "Take that face diaper off and be healthy." She glad did so. It is sick what these mandates have done to people.
Getting tired of this; am from MA where a lot of regulations are being lifted but not all. Now am looking forward to trips
to Western PA (June 4-10, fly and car-rental) and most of the state late June early July (drive all the way).
While I might be able to do Pirates games in a week I wonder if the “you drink. we drive” brewery tour will happen
