Trump Expected to Look Ahead in Return to Washington on Tuesday

Former President Donald Trump will return to Washington, D.C., on Tuesday for the first time since leaving office.

Trump is set to deliver a keynote speech at the America First Agenda Summit, and advisers told Bloomberg he is not expected to announce plans to run for president in 2024.

However, Bloomberg said the "notoriously mercurial ex-leader could change his mind on the way into town from the airport" about discussing '24.

"He loves that the news is about whether he's ready to announce, when he's going to announce," Barry Bennett, a Republican strategist who worked on Trump's 2016 campaign, told Bloomberg.

"He loves all of the media speculation, and he doesn't mind a fight, but when you actually declare, you have to make FEC filings."

While Democrats in Congress remain focused on the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol attack, former Speaker Newt Gingrich said Tuesday's speech will allow Trump to look forward and explain how a second term as president would benefit the nation.

"[The speech is] an opportunity for President Trump to come to Washington and give a visionary speech about why the future would be better with his leadership — and to the degree he focuses on that it could be a very important speech," Gingrich said, Politico reported.

Before the 2020 election, Trump's team composed a two-page policy agenda document titled "Vision 2025" — which was reviewed by Politico — that outlined what would be accomplished by the end of 2024, under the subhead: "renewed, restored, rebuilt." The election results, however, ended those plans.

Trump's former domestic policy adviser Brooke Rollins told Politico that Trump's speech would represent a "State of the Union 5.0."

Bennett told Bloomberg that he believed Trump will refrain from making an announcement to prevent federal election-law requirements and limits on fundraising from kicking in.

A Quinnipiac University poll this month showed that 69% of Republican voters would like to see Trump run again, but 54% of Democrats want someone other than Biden to run in 2024.

I expect many in Washington will hear what Trump has to say for or against him. But the press will of course be negative regardless what he says. That worm doesn’t turn.

I checked their site and it’s a sold out and by invitation only Summit. If or not they’ll air it afterwards we’ll see.

I think he’s Trump is going to DC in part to antagonize Nancy and Liz into trying something. DC is Nancy’s jurisdiction and I would not put it past her to tell the DC PD to arrest Trump and try to bring him before the J6 committee. I hope like hell they try a stunt like that. It would backfire spectacularly.

With all the news about Trump’s Schedule F employee details and plans for staffing in ‘25, he appears to be thinking forward. All the peeps he’s recruiting may have finally convinced him he can’t base his campaign on a stolen election 4 years past.

Rather, when in the WH, spotlight, ID, and prosecute that election fraud.

But basing an upcoming campaign on it is a loser.

Additionally, we’ll see more state legislatures—like Wisconsin last week—admit the fraud that they tried to deny. His ‘stolen’ meme will be an easy sell then.

I do not want to vote for Trump again, but I will if he's the nominee.

I will be paying attention to his speeches, and if he stops talking about the "stolen 2020 election" that will do a great deal to convince me to support him. That is my personal position. If you feel differently, great.

And if he stops talking about the stolen election, the problem will never get solved and the left wins.

Not the smartest move on your part.

Think of the rat senators up in ‘24. Build the wall. Then there’s the 5 year sentence for those illegals caught returning. Remember it failed? Bring it up. Would Sienema vote against it? Border states are now all over the place and there are at least 8 senators quaking in their boots. Override the veto.

I think Trump should Castigate,Romney lover,Rona McDaniel and Mitch McConnell for choosing Milwaukee for the site of the 2024 Republican convention.
That place is a den of corruption

Maybe he can use clips from the “24” episodes to demonstrate that our country is on the edge from liberals and terrorists. Too bad Kiefer sutherland is a liberal or he would be an excellent add in...but he’s Canadian and comes from socialist lineage.

Doing nothing but talk about it isn't solving the problem either.

Do, pray tell, what President Trump can do besides inform the public?

Furthermore, the more people he reaches, and he reaches more and more people every day with his message of Voter Fraud, the more likely the pressure from those very same people will actually force their Governors, Representatives and Senators to actually take action.

The only way to ensure free and fair elections is to move forward, not back. Furthermore, State legislators have the most effect on election rules, so the President should not be concerned with most of these measures. The fault lies with voters who have stayed home and allowed their State legislatures to be overrun with far-left zealots. The federal govt is already out of control and has overreached its mandate, even when it comes to federal elections. If you want to change elections rules, get to the polls in State elections and put people there who will make sane laws.

You cannot move forward on Voter Fraud, without dealing with the past instances of it.

This is illogical.

The history of the problem HAS TO BE part of the solution.

Your post makes no sense.

I hope this time Trump has a huge cadre of allies and people who will be loyal to him and not the deep state.

He did not last time.
