Noem deploying troops from South Dakota to border ‘warzone’

South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem joined a list of Republican state leaders who have said they will deploy troops to the country’s southern border, which she called a “warzone” in a post announcing the move.

“The border is a warzone, so we’re sending soldiers,” Noem posted on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter. “The SD-Guard’s primary mission will be construction of a wall to stem the flow of illegal immigrants, drug cartels, and human trafficking into the United States of America.”

In a statement released Tuesday, Noem said 60 South Dakota soldiers will be deployed to Texas in the spring on a rolling basis “over a three-month period.” She said the deployment “answers the call” from Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R).

A “well regulated militia.” And there we have it!

If I have to abandon my beloved Texas, I might head your way.

She's sending 60 Guard troops. Sixty. Six-Zero.

A token number who will assist in putting up razor wire.

How about sending an entire battalion?

It won't help at all. Everything is lost. Drink your hemlock now.

I have one handle in mind who sounds pretty close to this. Almost consistently.

OK, I’ll go first. 60 isn’t nearly enough. Send a brigade.

How about sending some Bradleys, as we did Ukraine?

The Southern border along the Rio Grande is a mess as far as
being a secure border from crosers. The Texas border makes up
about half of the U.S. – Mexico border, stretching 1,254 miles
from the Gulf of México to El Paso. Various attempts have been
used but to little success.

U.S.-Mexico Border Barriers Now Total 741 Miles of 1241 miles
using some different approaches. Texas money, no federal or other
states help to my knowing.

..

McALLEN, Texas (Border Report) — The State of Texas on Thursday appealed a federal judge’s ruling that will allow federal Border Patrol agents to take down border barriers that the state put along the Rio Grande in places like Eagle Pass and El Paso.

The INVASION CONTINUES with gov't approval it seems. jmo

It’s a nice move, except the illegals will just change course and head west. Then up through New Mexico, Arizona and California. And if they intend to go, or get relocated, to Texas, what’s Texas to do? Gov Abbott can’t close all the land borders. But I still give him high kudos for doing what the fedgov is willfully failing at.

Bradleys, Abrahams, friggin' A-10Cs. Close down the border to ALL traffic not arriving at designated ports of entry.

The National Guard has very little to do with “a well regulated militia”. A State’s National Guard is a tool of the State Government. That is all. It is not a militia of We the People.

I commend what Gov. Noem is doing with them. It is a very good thing.

That’s a separate issue.

One mile wide free fire zone south of the border.

Many Mexicans will have to move south.

Rio Grande from its starting point in Colorado to it's end at
the Gulf of Mexico. It follows the border of Texas/Mexico
to it's final end at the Gulf. The Texas portion is where most
of the illegal crossings take place as it is shallow and easy to
wade across.
