How liberals killed Earth Day

How liberals killed Earth Day

OPINION:

Earth Day used to be a celebration of our individual and collective responsibility to protect the planet and improve human health. It was about science and data. Unfortunately, today, Earth Day has little to do with the planet and more to do with far-left agendas meant to increase control over the population.

The paint-throwing, street-blocking activists will be out in force pushing their narrative of climate doom, more than happy to ignore science in the process. The media will reflexively add credibility to the nonsense.

President Biden will tout the importance of some patently unachievable electric vehicle or emissions goal. Social media Pied Pipers will play their silly tune about how more of our money in the hands of runaway bureaucracy can change the temperature of the Earth.

Today’s socialist Democrats have used climate change to alter the national conversation from reasoned environmental protection to an irrational, emotionally damaging hysteria only loosely based on science.

As was laid bare at the height of the pandemic, far-left liberals in America are willing to be openly anti-science to drive their agenda of division and control. They routinely ignore or deny the substantial environmental progress that the United States has made in the last half a century, as well as the nation’s long-standing leadership role in environmental protection.

They ignore that even before the breathless push for electric vehicles and emissions caps, the U.S. was beating Europe in reducing carbon dioxide emissions. They ignore that while geologic history and environmental science make clear that the climate changes, there is little scientific data to support any effort by the U.S. government or Western governments collectively to affect the planet’s temperature.

Earth Day was never about pollution. Nor are any of the environmental laws and regulations written by unelected bureaucrats. Think about where our former industrial strength has gone.

Given Gaylord Nelson’s background as a left-wing Democrat, it is no mere coincidence Lenin’s birthday was chosen for his special “day”.

No such thing is clear.

Opus?

You are correct. That would be Earth Day founder and guru Ira Einhorn who murdered Holly Maddaux, stuffed her body in a trunk and split for France where he hid out for years until he was extradited back here. April 22 is also Vladimir Lenin's birthday.

Politicians are motivated by money.

Gaylord Nelson was not the founder?

>> I think think your screed has much relation to the specific subject of the thread; but thanks for playing.

You “think think”, huh.

Well I “think think” that Thapsus_epiphany hit the nail right on the head, and I’m wondering why you took that poster to task for it.

Fascinating soul, you are.

Thank you ever so much for your wonderful comments on my post.
I think it would be a shame if FR became facebook-lite, with ill educated and poorly informed folks posting lots of OMG’s and BTW’s, and posting blindingly obvious comments on issues they can barely pronounce, much less understand.
I’ve always believed that conservatives are far more informed about current events because they understand the history behind them.
Nothing happens in a vacuum, despite the efforts of the left to pretend otherwise. It would give them an opportunity to disconnect themselves from the disastrous results of their policies and absolve them of any responsibility for the millions of lives they’ve destroyed.
For me at least, it’s important to point out each and every policy failure of the left.
I don’t think characterizing my posts as ‘screeds’ is helpful.
Thank you again.
