The actions of an a$$hole father - he with money, the mother without - using his position of power to accuse her of false crimes, using the child as a battering ram against the mother - he drove her into depression and HIS actions caused her breakdown, and this child's death.
The mother committed the act. The father was the proximate cause.
I remain steadfast in my opinion - this child would be alive today if her a$$hole father were not an a$$hole.
That's my opinion.
