Criticism abounds among aid agency officials in Kabul of the part played by the Americans in this process.

I knew this was going to be our fault somehow, in the eyes of this reporter. It's not the fault of the freakish Afghan culture and the stupid religious beliefs of the murderers.

I guess our President should've defined the word "long" for these morons when he said this was going to be a "long war against terrorism."

"Several aid agencies had warned that the security situation in Afghanistan was deteriorating, citing a sharp rise in attacks on workers from non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and United Nations staff - 16 last month - and the steadily rising death toll among soldiers in the fledgling Afghan army. The latest horrors seemed to confirm their case."

So in other words, even with a UN presence in Afghanistan, the situation has gotten no better...and even then, it's still the US's fault. Do we really want them in Iraq?

Such places have helped to restore post-Taliban Afghan-istan to its position as the world's number one producer of opium, providing 90 per cent of the heroin in London.

This is one of the key problems right here.
