did you really grow up in NYC like I did

Yes, I grew up on Staten Island which was half open land when I grew up. Once the Verazzano Bridge opened it suddenly became totally populated with tacky little houses. I don't miss it at all and love rural living (except for the cold)

I have a whole new respect for New Yorkers after September 11th. I don't think I've ever been more impressed with a group of people. Why look at where they are on our total board!!!!!!! Talk about rising from the ashes with style and grace!

Hi vermonter
my neighbor on the lower east side of Manhattan
who was born in my building, grew up there
and when she married moved to the apartment downstairs
used to tell me ''Staten Island is so beautiful, it's the country there''
she had never been any place else
I had been to Vermont tho -- and always wanted to move to Vermont
it's still my dream to live rural
