Gov. Davis Instructs Staff To Review Civil Union Law

Governor Gray Davis has instructed his staff to review how California could enact civil union legislation, the Bay Area Reporter has learned.

While the staff working group likely will look at various issues of concern to the gay community, it's main priority will be to analyze and review the issue of civil unions. Davis and his staff are in the process of selecting people to serve on the 12- to 15- member panel that could meet as early as next summer.

I am establishing a task force to review what Vermont has done to find out if any of those measures are applicable to California, Davis told the BAR in an interview last week. "This is a relatively new concept. Vermont is the only place which adopted it."

This is California where democrap politicians tell the voters to shove everything. Yes, we passed Prop 22 that states marriage is between a man and a woman. Then the legislators got together and started passing laws to overturn the voters' wishes. They are sort of getting away with it, too. Gov.
