Why? Are independent voters stupid?

Yes, we are.

The Oracle thing is big. That's why Davis is trying to distance himself. "I didn't know"; "It's not my fault"; and the resignation of his scapegoat, Barry Keene.

But it is big, and I don't see Davis returning the $25,000 contribution that came his way a few days after the signing of the contract. Do you?

Dump Davis!

It seems to me that Davis can claim incompetence and point out that the loss is at most $95 million or so. The incompetence already displayed by Davis in his heavy-handed interference with energy in Kalifornia is estimated at $15 billion or more. Unless someone can present the "smoking gun" tape with Davis' voice congratulating others on having taken the taxpayers to the cleaners, I don't see this getting much traction.

Remember, this is Kalifornia. Didn't we already see a similar amount wasted not too long ago on a DMV computer system which never operated properly? The Dems don't care how much of my money they steal and waste.

I'll give you that. However, the Oracle thing has a money component -- and I'm not talking about the cost to the taxpayers! The contribution ... coupled with Davis' other ethics problems ... makes it a story to be re-told. I think people "get it", the quid pro quo political enviro of our megalomanic governor.

Wasn't Oracle's CEO trying to push a National ID card? It must suck to only rip off the taxpayers of one state when you'd hoped to rip off the whole country!

Yep, that was him. He was going to do it for 'free'. Meaning he'd develop it for nothing, but there would have had to be many many copies of his software purchased to put it into effect. What magnanimity.
