The anti-Bush bias in this article would make an excellent exercise in a university journalism class examining objectivity.
Of course, finding a journalism teacher who doesn't approve of this particular bias is probably impossible.

``I don't buy a word of the 'compassionate' at all,'' said Joel Frangquist, 25, from San Francisco. ``Where's the compassion for the people of Iraq, for the Palestinians, for the people who have been laid off because of a phony recession?'' This nonsense illustrates the wacky out of touch mentality that makes California such a Democrat strong hold.

By all appearances on this trip, Bush has gotten over his reservations about Simon, a political newcomer. Bush and his White House political operatives forcefully backed former Los Angeles Mayor Richard Riordan, Simon's opponent in last month's Republican primary. I don't remember Bush doing anything forceful for RHINOdan during the primary but for the AP it is a fairly low key article.

(Bush) condemned bigotry and hatred...``We reject the ancient evil of anti-Semitism, whether it is practiced by the killers of Daniel Pearl, or by those who burn synagogues in France,'' Bush said.
And all he had to do was look outside the Santa Clara Convention Center to see bigotry and hatred in action in the form of whack-job protestors. Union thugs, Paleswinians, anti-war "peace-niks", pro-abortion extremists, etc. Luckily there were three Freepers out there to challenge their assumptions and propaganda and just give them a little irritation to their rally.
