Please, please, do not take me off your ping list. I have major holdings in CA, and Davis would not know a profit unless it was political buyout.

Simon should suggest that we all get reparations. It will be called "tax refunds."

Reparations are the answer.

However the question is: "What is the latest stupid idea Gray-out Davis has announced?"

Here is one way to paint Davis as an extreme left-wing socialist.

"The ambition of men is such that; to gratify a present desire, they think not of the evils which will in a short time result from it. Nor will they be influenced by the examples of antiquity...." - Niccoló Machiavelli, The Discourses. 1517.

Very smart; he'll get beat up by the usual suspects but the overwhelming majority of voters do not support reparations.

It makes you wonder how Davis will impose a tax on evil, white, heterosexual males to right this horrible wrong while sparing the innocent, oppressed peoples of color the same fate.

What form would it take, I wonder? Income tax? Estate tax? Corporate tax (careful Governor Dufus, don't want to bite the palm that greases you).

And if he runs all the achievers out of California, just who is going to be left to foot the bill for these reparations, I wonder?

Davis is being used by the left-wing of the democratic party the same way a coal mine uses a canary

Outstanding comparison. The imagery is pleasant, too.

Probably in the form of a "tax credit" for slave ancestry.

If the person doesn't pay taxes then they get it as an "earned income credit", i.e. a "refund" for taxes they never paid.

Ya know, I wouldn't be surprised if David Horowitz had Simon's ear on this. Simon's words sound a lot like Horowitz in his speeches against reparations.

Just a thought. Either way, nicely done and to the point.

I know it's not nice to gloat, but I LOVE THIS!!!!!

How can Simon lose if Davis keeps this up? Well, he could fail to exploit Davis' many gaffes and let Davis and the media control the spin, but it looks like he doesn't plan on letting that happen.

Right on Bill -- come out swinging and don't stop till the election is won!

And, by the way, Governor Davis, where ARE your fundraising schedules for the past four years? And what is the deal, Governor, with Larry Ellison (Oracle's) quid-pro-quo 25K campaign contribution a couple of days after you granted his company a 126 million-dollar software contract, hmmm?

Let's go get him!

GO SIMON! I've been getting some thumbs up for my "DUMP DAVIS" bumper sticker. With this latest blather from Davis about reparations, I think I'll be getting more.

(Does anyone else think Davis looks like a Q-Tip?)

Unlike our President, who should have won in a landslide over Gore, Simon knows how to throw political punches. He is going to romp and stomp Davis come November.

I think that you might have misunderstood my meaning here. Doofus- er I mean Davis is the one I am ridiculing here. -

What I meant was that if you want to speak to ex-slaves, talk to the refugees from Castro's regime who have found freedom in Miami.

Hope that clears things up....

whew.
