And so will the major companies and businesses of California

Family aquantiance (sp?) is head of UPS Western Div. He has already warned Gov Davis of this. Is working on list of all regs that are above and beyond Fed. Told the gov this happened somewhere on east coast and was close to happening in wider scale here.

I want them to move...then I can find job with them in other states.

"Can someone tell me why people continue to live in CA? Really - i just dont get it...."

I am here because of "golden handcuffs". I design aerospace propulsion systems for a living. Not too many places to do that. I'm 4 years from retirement, my 401K is in the tank, and I ain't bought any lottery tix lately.

Eric, we live here cuz it's home. We think it's worth staying and fighting for. Actually, if you like the weather, we could use some more people living here, voting the RIGHT way.

Next they'll be coming around to confiscate your yards

Hate to tell you, but this already happened. Remember the church land the city of Cypress "eminent domained” last month for a Costco?

Oops! Just checked with someone in the Capitol. We can't protest the vote. Apparently, this happens all the time (someone voting for the Assembly Member); the Republicans have been known to do it, too. We can't go there. Rats!!

Thanks for the civics lesson I missed when growing up.

The d**m pubbies have the same problem as the rats, just the kind of blackmailable position a fascist like Clinton liked to put them in to force their compliance and silence - "every body does it." I am sure Davis enjoys knowing that.

Time for the Republic-rats to clean house.

Sorry, but this gets even more sick at every turn.

I like your Freeper Profile page!

By the way the Bee article is now on Free Republic :

Governor expects to sign air bill
He says the landmark 'greenhouse gas' curbs strike the right balance.

But is it illegal? And what happens to the passed legislation? I really think the only way it could make a difference is if it were unconstituitional. After all, the assembly gets to make it's own rules.

On the other hand, how about a constitutional amendment which requires recorded voice votes?

Welcome to the wonderful world of "proxy voting". In the Assembly, members are allowed to cast votes on behalf of other members. In theory, they're supposed to vote the way their fellow member would have voted. But that's not always the case. More than once Democrat Assemblyman Rod Wright caught his colleagues attempting to proxy vote in new gun legislation in the dead of night; votes contrary to what the absent members would have wanted. Rod called them on it and the votes weren't counted. I guess that no one was minding the store this time.

Seriously, this could be great news for Simon. It will turn the soccer moms against Davis, as will the new announcements of blackouts now that the temp is in triple digits.

Picture these flyers: WARNING TO ALL SUV OWNERS. since mm/dd/yy when AB1493 was passed by the demonRATS in the state legislature and signed into law by unGov. Gray Davis your vehicle does not comply with CA CO2 emmision control standards. Please turn in your vehicle to your local police dept. IMEDIATELY where you will be issued at Hugo....or vote for Bill Simon etc. etc.

You get the idea, we need someone with real talent like "Registered" to refine it.
