We are being punished for rejecting MTBE. GO SIMON!

Looks like my year-old Lexus SUV just went up in value.

They came for our SUV's I didn't speak out.

They came for our lawnmowers and our barbecues yet still I said nothing.

Then they took away the cows and the other farm animals and still I was silent.

Finally they came for me and said I was exhaling excess CO2. By then however, no one was willing to open their mouth to speak, for fear of producing additional green house gases.

I don't suppose there's any chance the auto-industry will tell CA to stick it and just stop selling cars there.

...including carbon dioxide...

This combustion product is eliminated only by never starting the engine. Are they aware that water is also a combustion product?

I told everyone that he'll sign it.

Next prediction: Gray Davis will cruise to re-election.

Further prediction: State houses outside of California will pick up on the "Save the Earth/Kill your SUV" trend posthaste.

California Gov. Gray Davis Monday signed a landmark bill making the state the first in the nation to regulate the vehicle greenhouse gas emissions scientists say contribute to global warming.

What a dork.

A few notes on this law: The bill number was changed so as to confuse opposition to it. Its hearings under the new number were held in a broom closet of an office to prevent opposition voices from being heard. It was passed in the dead of night. Some of the "yes" votes were cast by proxy, a practice allowed by Assembly rules. Davis and his cronies attempted to delay the delivery of the bill to Davis' desk to thwart a promised repeal initiative. Which all begs the question: If this law is such a good idea, then why all the sneaking around to pass it?

It's getting to the point that the only thing that's going to un-do this crap is for car dealers in CA to close up and auto manufacturers to quit selling their products there. Imagine every car dealer closed, with a big sign out front saying something like "Closed due to environmental regulations made possible by [Gray Davis, and list of Democrats who voted for it]. We can no longer sell new cars in the state of CA because of this law."

It won't be until that point that the absurdity of these environmental regulations hits home with people and then they'll protest it vehemently. It could be the best thing that's ever happened to CA Republicans!

I hope the auto companies put the lnew law on the November ballot as an initiative to repeal the law. I would think they could the necessary signatures in a matter of days. This law must be killed.

Every time I think I have reached the limit on observing human stupidity I say to myself "They cant get any stupider than this"... and then something like this happens.
I think we gotta start grading stupidity on a logarithmic scale so that we can keep up with the down trend.

The rest of the nation should focus on my state (Kalifornia) and make note of what WILL happen with no obstacles in the State Assembly or State Senate........do the words "Run Roughshod" ring a bell?

To make it worse, Simon has not a "Chinaman's Chance" (Kalifornia lingo) in the upcoming election.........Greyout is a lock.
