Ok. You caught me. In my haste to make fun of this stupid idea, I misspoke.

How's this:
For all practical purposes you have to burn something to produce that electricity stored in those batteries.

I have lived "off the grid." I know all about solar and wind. I wish the technology were truly available, but the reality of it is that it's not. Do you have any idea how many solar panels it would take to get enough power to get the average commuter to and from work every day?
