A victory check list from the LA Times. Now, I won't register to readt the Smell A Times, but I think I can figure out their check list.

-Advocate open the California boarder with Mexico and dedicated thousands in free education, health services and housing to the new immigrants so they will be able to compete in society.
-Call for sweeping new environmental regulations
-Demand an immedidate increase in teacher's salaries and that of all other state union employees.
-Call for an increase in taxes for the Rich to pay for it all.

Yup. I wouldn't pay heed to the political consultants who grace their op ed pages. None of them foresaw Bill Simon's victory coming in March and none of them foresee him defeating GrayDown in November.

A firm from which Simon took a leave from. Yup, its not a good climate to run as a businessman in even though GrayDown is far more crooked in his dealings than Simon.

Uhmmm...I hate to tell you this, but after yesterday's court virdict against Simon's firm it will be very hard to imagine Simon winning. The Davis team is going to have a field day with this verdict in the commercials.

I would imagine we will see more surprises like the jury award.
That just has to have been a rigged deal!
It just smells like it!

A few highlights:

Fourth, Simon must get on the offense and stay there. His opponent's record offers up a target-rich environment. Nothing will stir up Simon's base more than a steady and relentless drumbeat of political-attack rhetoric that underscores his determination to sharpen differences with Davis.

Fifth, perhaps it's a small point, but I keep reading about those hecklers who follow Simon around to shout him down. Put that to an end. If the opponents show up with 20 hecklers, Simon should send 40 to the governor's next appearance. When they send 30, treat the governor to 60. The only way to end that kind of juvenile behavior is to make it more painful to receive than to give. If Simon's campaign lets them continue unabated, his opponents will think of him as a pitiful wimp, and so will many of his supporters.

Basically - FReep Davis!!!

Overall a pretty good analysis.
