I would like to ask for you to pray for my son, Judd. He is an almost-graduate with a Master's in anthropology. After talking with him, he asked me to request special prayers from my prayer warrior buddies at FR. His graduate advisor (whatever she is) has given him a hard time for the last couple of years -- shredding his thesis at every turn -- always making him feel like everything else she has to do is *more* important than signing off on his thesis. This child has almost half the hours towards his PhD and has already been accepted into the PhD program (history with emphasis on religious studies) on completion of the Master's, which he's hoping to walk the stage for in August.
He has a meeting with this advisor on Saturday. Please pray that she'll sign off on his thesis and he can walk the stage in August. Judd is a wonderful Christian young man and has always been very focused on his goals but beset by health problems with a seizure disorder (pretty well controlled), hypertension (well controlled now), and recently costochondritis. He has worked very hard to get where he is. I have always known that God has his hand on him and has something special for him to do with his life. It just seems like he's had a lot of demons to fight. I appreciate your prayers, and so does Judd! Love to all!!
His hand is in all outcomes, whatever the mystery, the joy or the pain. Prayers for your son's continued strength.

But I'll put in a word with the Big Man just in case!
:)
God has it covered.
**No thanks. I reserve my conversations with My Maker for somewhat larger issues.**
And the spiritual works of mercy are praying for all people in all situations.
How did you get such a hardened heart?
I confess it, I had that same thought.
FReepers have never let me down. Are they the best, or what?!! :)
and a re-prayer while I'm here (and a bump)
Prayer Ping!
Please notify me via FReepmail if you would like to be added to or taken off the Prayer Ping List.
Please address your prayers to TejasRose
Offering my prayers
Why, thank you. Will pass this on.
Prayers lifted....
I believe there are no small prayers.
Matthew 10:29-31
Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them
shall not fall on the ground without your Father.
But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.
(So, please tell your son that whenever somebody tells him that something he's done is "for the birds," he should take it as a compliment. That doesn't mean that anyone should ignore good, constructive editing or otherwise advice. But I do think the Lord is telling us to consider the source of negative comments we encounter.) ;)
Your, our maker has asked that we pray for one another. Your remarks are disgusting.
Merriam-Webster online has never heard of "costochondritis." Could you give us some background, please?
Prayers and best wishes.
You should be ashamed of yourself. This IS a large problem for them, or they wouldn't have asked for prayer. I'm going to pray that "MY MAKER" will change your cold heart. You REALLY need prayer!!
I'm real sorry that Eldedomuerto was so rude to you. I was pretty stunned by what he/she said to you, so I'm praying for him too.
Like your ego?
Costochondritis: Costochondritis is the result of inflammation of the cartilage of the chest wall, usually involving that which surrounds the breast bone (sternum). It causes local pain and tenderness of the chest around the sternum.
Costochondritis, also known as Tietze's syndrome is a painful condition caused by inflammation of the cartilage between the ribs and the breast bone (sternum) - manifested by discomfort that increases with pressing on the area and chest wall movement such as twisting or deep breathing. It may follow a viral infection by a week or two or can occur without any known inciting event.
Sometimes patients with this present to ER with chest pain simulating a heart attack or pleurisy.
The treatment is generally anti-inflammatory medication, analgesics, and sometimes injections into the painful areas. It is usually self-limiting and will improve given time, but rarely can be chronic and may be associated with other inflammatory diesases such as the rheumatologic disorders.
Hope that helps.
