John F. Kerry returns to the Senate today basking in his national profile, but once again laboring in the long shadow cast by fellow Bay State Sen. Edward M. Kennedy.
Political insiders will be scrutinizing the delicate post-election political dance unfolding between Kennedy and Kerry with great interest. The pair are friendly rivals, but their staffers have clashed in the past as their divergent ambitions collided.
Kennedy was miffed when Kerry profusely thanked his campaign staffers but failed to mention him during the Faneuil Hall concession speech, sources said.

Of course--if he had his way, he would get the nomination. But fortunately for us, he won't. The election's just over and already the dems are having Hillary wet dreams, she's the one they really want and always did want since Bill left office and can't run again, Kerry was just a fallback candidate whom none of them were for, but supported only 'cause he wasn't Bush. I predict 2 years from now (if even that), Kerry will be way, way down in the polling among dems for the favorite. He'll be lucky if he even registers.
This election was Kennedy's last chance to control the White House. Kennedy probably just started salivating when Bush asked him over a few times. Knowing that he (Kennedy) was unelectable, he figured that the best way to get inside the WH more frequently was to promote his boy Kerry.
Too bad it didn't work out.
Something about this story just doesn't make sense.
