Just doing a quick survey...and for something different than the Katrina threads.
At what price must gas hit before you cut back on driving, switch to a better economy car, or start hoofing it to get to work?
I'm just curious.
Lotta hostility there towards a guy who's just starting a conversation.... Perhaps it's not he who needs advice on living life! :
I think his old buddy died. He was HELPING this buddy, not holding his hand. The aged man was walking on unsteady ground and Mr. Bush took his hand to steady him. Cheez.
My son had an escort for over 10 years. Great little car.
Let's see,
I live 25 miles from work,
so if I stared walking (@ 3 miles per hour) it would take me about...
8 hours to get to work....;)
So no, there isn't a point when I stop buying gas. I may have to stop something else, but gas is a no go.
They already are! Stores selling gas are having a hard time with people pulling away from the tanks without paying. One guy got run over and killed, trying to stop one of them.
You've just plain lost it!
It's almost to that point, isn't it.
I expect gas prices to start to drop sometime after the last big summer driving weekend, Labor Day.
When it's the same price as Everclear
Where the hit comes in is in discretionary spending as the amount available to spend shrinks.
Thank you for your reply
In this thread-
"At what price point do YOU stop buying gasoline"
I felt it was dealing with several topics!
After living through the 1964 snow storm in Det.Mi, weather has always interested me...
Around 1967 I was in a book store of the Fisher Building and flipping through a book that talked about a draught in 1975 by some professor I thought that nonsense.
There is a lot that has happen since than that was real in the mid 70's many farmers were shaken from their land because of draught some seasons or too much rain in others.
Many feel it was from ELF which is able to formed a bubble over 5 stated an as the rain would come down from Canada if would veer off to other states accept those farmer states and many lost their farms or a way of life.
Or ELF could cause the land to become drentch and the corps
became worthless!
As America became aware the large Corporate Farms was able take over bankrupted family farmers for nickles and dimes many farmers committed sueside even families or other great pain!
This ELF knowledge of being able tab into the energy of wearther has been around for a long time!
Should we ignore this "Ecomonic Terrorist Weather War!", our nation will weaken than those who wish ill could have a chance when our nation is most vulnerable!
It is times like this that one should bring these issues to light our ability is highten to receive these things and we might be able to thwart these things by awarenes... before they are a foot!
Pretty much like prayer has lowered the punch of Kattrina from a 5 to 4 over NO and down a 3
All we can do is Pray and Let God, and he has heard our prayers as far as the degree of the punch and now it is for America to continues to realized we are our brother keeper!
BTW MO You can say you are not worried about the price of oil in the summer time...
But in the winter if this reaches beyond $70 over $100 a barrel and folks don't have money for going to work, jobs can't functions and food don't get to you area in time or too costly to buy, an in the middle of the winter can't afford oil for heat!
I am sure trouble of wools are endless in this situation!
"What is more important is the people that are stuck in this storm" ~ Mo
We are covering these issues in other threads!
"It is too quencidental for oil the prices go to over $70 a barrel and an improtant Red state is in harms way!" ~
Resty
Louisiana is an surrounding states are our Red states, which are also vital to us all to preserve the Republic
(don't mean imply harm to the blue states)it is just we must stay off he Wacko Marxist who enable the Terrorsit to make head way!
Rush is on! did not complete edit got to go have a good day!:)
What's with tis is like talking points where all the news outlet pronoucing the word "New Orleans" = New Orlans
You again!:)
don't you have a life?
Yup! And conversing with folks is a big part of it..... sorry I was so blunt, but I was taken aback at your post. There's just nothing all that unusual about those clouds, and I couldn't quite follow the line of reasoning that says a bunch of terrorists in caves have figured out how to not only make a hurricane on demand out of a bunch of air in Africa, but moreover, how they learned to aim it so precisely at Louisiana. :~D
I've cut back to just driving to work....if we want to drive oil prices down don't frequent places or activities that are optional and cut back your optional spending...this may unfairly squeeze other parts of our economy...but then these other businesses start bitching at the oil industry...which has to reduce prices because people have stopped buying the widgets and going to the vacation spots that keep people employed!
Conservative Prius owner here. 48.2 mpg since I bought it in November. Getting about 53 mpg on this tank so far. We take my car much more than my wife's van lately.
My 99 CPU gets about 12 around town and 17 on the highway. My wife's 95 Riviera gets 15 city and 24 highway. The Buick has 60,000 miles on it and the 99 CPU has 40,000. If push comes to shove we could buy a small car that gets 35+ for driving the streets of Eureka Ca.
Most of our miles these days are to the Casinos of Humboldt county... :)
So I guess the proper answer to the question is I would stop buying when there is no more to buy.
Driving an automobile is kinda like owning property .... my right as an American. The elite liberals like Kennedy, Pelosi, and Kerry want us to park our cars and free up the roads for them. I'm not budging.
All I am saying don't count it out!
We weren't suppose to be able to clone either!
Just because many things aren't talked about don't mean it not going on!
I am not saying so much as controling as tapping into an energy source to use a weapon!

You were saying those clouds were tell-tale evidence of manufactured weather. How so?
