I know we would have been “out” anyway in 2010 but not with a president acting like he is deeply ashamed of our success there. Its a free and safe country, far safer than Mexico LA or Chicago.
It doesn't matter what Obama says...because every time he speaks, you must know that at the very least there is a 50/50 chance he is lying. Because he lied to his wife, or maybe she knew when she married him that he would continue to have sex with men. If that's the case, he didn't necessarily lie to her, but he is lying to everyone else with ease.
It appears Obama is a pathological liar, but has never been exposed for his lies. Lying by omission is still lying. Just like George Clooney. He tries to portray himself as heterosexual for his career, when everyone in LA and Italy knows he today's modern day Rock HuLIdson.

While things in Iraq have improved dramatically, this is obviously—as others on this thread have observed—more about Obama’s spending than anything else.

Obama is in perpetual campaign mode, obviously. His eyes are on election day 2010. He knows from the last election that Iraq doesn’t alter election outcomes. It doesn’t matter if this is right or wrong, what matters is how voters PERCEIVE things ON election day.
He is training all of his resources on the takers, who will RUN to vote on election day 2010 if they feel a change will cause a drop in the money they can take.
And the day after election day 2010, he will look toward election day 2012 and do what is necessary to win THAT.
As with the Clintons, ALL he cares about is gaining and holding power. That is what his policy decisions are about.
My son, deploying again to Iraq, called last night to laugh about this. He said, "This is basically the Bush timeline: elections, stability, and all we wish will be in place by the time the Iraqis have asked us to decrease our presence. They're saying basically what Bush said, but no one in the media is saying anything."
And now this: (1) Training (we're already doing that); (2) Advising (we're already doing that); (3) Engaging in limited combat operations (we've already started that with the Iraqis taking the lead in combat ops, and the plan is to get to the point where we do "limited combat operations."

They are simply repeating Bush's words, following Bush's agenda, and they're being treated as if they've discovered something exciting and new.
Now Al Quaeda is saying: “Boys, now we just have to HANG ON till August 2010, and we WIN!” They are already counting down the days.

Actually, on a reread this is just propaganda to keep the Left on his side. He needs their support to pass his radical domestic agenda.
We’ll never leave Iraq. He’ll just change his mind once his lock on power is secure. The willing dupes are pawns in a much bigger game. Even the One is just a pawn, although in a higher caste.
The goal is to fund the Left such that they cannot lose, despite reality and demographics. Hence DC statehood, ACORN and union funding, pork for local GOTV supporters and elected officials, control of the census etc. are all critical to keeping power.
Forget Porkulus, Iraq, et al.
Figure out how to install a conservative as possible Republican majority. It is he only counterbalance and as the past has proved not a very good one.
Properly managed Federal lawsuits stopping the above until after the 2010 elections are the best short run answer.
