Sen. Jeff Flake just said he would vote to move Judge Brett Kavanaugh out of the Judiciary Committee and to the floor of the Senate as long as the main vote would be delayed by up to one week to allow for an FBI investigation.

Rush just nailed it. The purpose of the delay is together another delay and another and another until Kav or the President withdraw his name. Anything to delay the vote.
A strong coordinated effort between McConnell and Trump is critical. With the President’s help (as he’s now involved due to the demand for an FBI investigation), all McConnell has to do is secure the votes.
Exactly what many of us said was going to happen.
I think that Senator Flake may have given the GOP majority a tremendous opportunity to button up some matters regarding the Election campaign the next 5-6 weeks as it relates to this Supreme Court nomination advice/consent process.
Flake said “[Democrats will not be able to] complain that a FBI investigation has not occurred”. Just think how that will resonate for voters in Montana, North Dakota, West Virginia, Indiana, Missouri, Florida, and maybe other places this next month if their Senator votes NO after an FBI investigation shows nothing material.
If a short FBI investigation did come up with something material then of course I wouldn’t want Kavanaugh to be confirmed and he’d be forced to withdraw. Most likely though, with little doubt, if there was something material then it would’ve come out yesterday.
I don’t think Dianne Feinstein really understood that when the gavel dropped to end today’s meeting that Grassley/Flake had checkmated her. The process is no longer in her arena. Its now up to McConnell who controls the Senate schedule to wrap this up.
Now is McConnell’s chance to finish this process right with flying colors.
If I were Kavanaugh (and/or White House team + his allies) I’d go over everything he said at the hearing yesterday to ensure its completely accurate. People in committees’ meetings are granted the fair courtesy to revise and extend their remarks for several days afterwards to ensure its fully accurate.

That senile idiot running the show -- apparently considering retiring (something he should have done a LONG time ago) -- could not get a single sentence out of his mouth this morning without garbling two or three SIMPLE words. And now, he called the vote, not even knowing what Flake had just demanded! He had NO clue! So he called a two hour adjournment so that they could explain it to him!
Incredible, just f'n incredible...
Two thoughts:
First, when they torpedo this nomination, there'll be fighting in the streets.
This country is sitting on a powder keg. People didn't vote for Trump because they liked his hair -- or his lifestyle, or anything else about his persona. They voted for him because they are FED UP with what's happening.
For the left, though, this nomination represents the one thing NO ONE dare speak in public: the swing vote that will ensure defeat for the decades of careful work they've pursued to forward their agenda. Now, with victory -- OR defeat -- just one vote away, they will fight tooth and nail to block him from being seated.
Do not put ANYTHING past them! They will fight like trapped rats (yeah, pun intended).
And the icing on the cake? I said "First," above, so now comes "Second," -- if this does provoke fighting in the streets, that will suit them just fine.
They'll be able to bring the hammer down. All limits OFF. Martial law, you name it, they'll do it -- they'll jump on it like a lizard on a fat juicy maggot. They'll finally be able to get to the finish line: full totalitarian rule.
Welcome to the future.
God, I'm so glad I'm an old man, without that many years remaining. I could do without that whole "housebound old cripple" part, but, you take the hand you're dealt.
But I fear for my wife and my son, who'll have to endure a full house "Can't happen here!" nightmare.
The request to the FBI can be made and refused...
But then what? What would they do.
At this point in my life (67 yo) I have such a deep and unwavering hatred for democrats and rinos that it goes to my very core. It will never go away.
I now understand the reasons why my ancestors signed on with the Union Army from the start at Sumpter. The shitbag party of traitors was as criminal then as now.
They are no different today. Their party should have been outlawed in 1865 and the democrat leadership North and South should have been hanged. No known democrat from that time on should have ever been allowed to vote or hold office.
I spent much of my life sworn to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same. Once sworn, still sworn. I will gladly take up arms to defend the Constitution, if need be, against these fascists and consider every dead democrat to make the Constitution and the Republic safer.
All democrats are domestic enemies of the Constitution and the Republic.
Will the Accuser lie to the FBI and get charged?
That would be some justice.
An investigation that concludes Ford is lying or not credible would be great but not if it delays the vote.
The problem is you don’t know what other delays they are going to manufacture if you delay.
I promise Flake knows this. It’s not about the midterms, it’s not about the GOP, it’s not about the President, it’s not about Christine Blasey Ford, it’s not about the Kavanaughs, it’s not about the Democrats, it’s not about the FBI.
It’s about Flake.
IF the FBI launches an “Investigation”, then they should include FBII interviews with ALL of the Senate Democrats that were involved with Dr. Ford as well....
- Who got her the Lawyers
- Who spoke with her
- Who is paying for everything associated with Dr. Fords allegations.
Christine Ford seems to have personal connections to CIA as well as family connections, her father for one. “We need you to do a little job for us...”
I wouldn’t trust this fbi leadership to investigate anything having national implications. They are disgraced for years now. Why would this be any different? They hate Trump, they were wildly pro-progressive democrat, and they view globalism as their religion. I don’t think Wray is much different, but I know those elevated to senior positions by the prior leadership are still there.
