I am not anti-cop. Far from it. Without them, this country would be a jungle -- in good times.
However -- here's a 6 year old sitting in a public school classroom, drawing a picture of a gun. What happens? Instant expulsion -- zero tolerance.
Why has there been no zero tolerance for cops?
This from an online news source: Derek Chauvin shot one suspect, was involved in the fatal shooting of another, and received at least 17 complaints during his nearly two decades as an officer, according to police records and archived news reports.
Not having zero tolerance for bad cops -- unacceptable. On the first day of class for new recruits it should be carefully explained to them -- one complaint and you're gone, that day.
I wonder what our country would look like today if, 40 years ago we had had zero tolerance for cops in every city. How many lives would have not been lost; how many businesses not burned down by rioting.
One complaint? Come on! That is just asking for trouble.
Where are you going to get perfect cops?
Asking for a friend.
Look cops are like every profession. Some are bad some are good. Some nurses are good and some bad etcetcetc
If one wants to make this about all cops to further their own agenda then wake up.
This death is not about racism, this is about an idiot and a thug in a uniform.
Make it too tough on police to do their jobs, you get what we saw in Minneapolis last night.
What if the complaint is bogus?
Conversely, make it too easy for them to abuse the law, and officially lie about their activities, and use whatever force necessary to fulfill a democrat mayor or governors edicts, leads to a police state.
The last perfect being to walk this Earth was crucified nearly 2000 years ago.
The SCOTUS has historically given police an implied immunity for their actions. Now there is a package of cases that are to be heard this session which may eliminate this
Ok — two or three. But 17?
I think we are in a jungle most of the time anyway. What this country has become makes me sick. Yes, I DO remember the old days. Back in the 1950s and the early 1960s, when things were not as crazy as this country is now. Yes, I DO miss the old days. Really, things were damned better back then. I think back over the past 70+ years and I see this mess of a country now and it makes me want to puke. America has become a nation of crap. Drugs running rampant in this country. Sell marijuana in businesses now. This nation is going crazy in a hand bag.
Bingo! Just consider the fact that people are FAR more apt to post negative reviews of businesses and services than positive ones. Countless people revel in their "Victimhood" for all manner of perceived ills (real or imagined) motivating them to ascribe blame to others!
Then they’re all fired on day 1. This is so stupid only a liberal could think it.
MAYBE one substantiated complaint with a period of ‘atonement’ with any problems dealt with harshly.
(It does make it easier with the body cams which the extra mile/dollar should be spent to ensure that the cams can’t be erased or edited and should be stored for future use. It could not only prove one guilty but, then again, if Biden had been wearing a non stop body cam we would have the TRUE answer) (I KNOW, I KNOW), just saying.
If EVERYONE wore an inerasable body cam, crime would cease to exist - or at least be under control...
To the ‘antis’, if you NOTHING TO HIDE or be ashamed of, nothing to worry about.
Will have to implant the body cam right next to the chip.
If you say ONE COMPLAINT and we show you the door, you must be a fan of the ‘Red Flag Gun Laws’.
There are SCORES of tests to weed out bad cops. Some, though, fall through the cracks.
Mind you, OUR COPS (USA) and the most honest and decent of all the cops on this planet Earth, with the exception of Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
But we Americans are the most spoiled people on this planet; always were; always will be.
If one HATES American cops, go live ANYWHERE
1. south our our border--all the way to the tip of South America
2. Asia
3. Africa
4. Middle East
Then one MIGHT even BEGIN to appreciate our own "THIN BLUE LINE."
That just means you told 17 black people to stop screeching and move along.
Have you ever endeavored to become a cop? You should educate yourself.
Hell, just go on a few ride alongs.
That means that every cop who arrests a perp, will be fired summarily.
How does that compare to average complaints for other officers? I imagine lefties (and the guilty) might try false complaints against any officer interaction over time.
How about zero tolerance for high government officials: elected and appointed?
