WASHINGTON — The Biden administration will take a historic step toward easing federal restrictions on cannabis, with plans to announce an interim rule soon reclassifying the drug for the first time since the Controlled Substances Act was enacted more than 50 years ago, four sources with knowledge of the decision said.

The Drug Enforcement Administration is expected to approve an opinion by the Department of Health and Human Services that marijuana should be reclassified from the strictest Schedule I to the less stringent Schedule III. It would be the first time that the U.S. government has acknowledged its potential medical benefits and begun studying them in earnest. [...]

WHOOOO could’ve said this was a mistake and guys like noblefree and his ilk were wrong about it.

Whoooo could’ve seen that crime would skyrocket, laziness would skyrocket, and you’d have to smell it too?

Whoooo? Well I did. But I’m the bad guy I guess.

“Making governments into drug cartels is supposed to be an antidote to nanny statism?”

Legalizing cannabis no more makes government a “cartel” than did legalizing the drug alcohol.

Will you ever stop gaslighting and understand your pushing?

You’ve got your way and it’s a nightmare. Gaslight all you want about caffeine or alcohol, but your weed dream has turned into a fucknn nightmare from hell that many told you it would be.

“Weed ruins people. See it every day.”

So does alcohol, but it often ruins other people’s lives in the process. I’ve seen plenty of loud, obnoxious, violent drunks (including two drunk people who broke their hands punching walls). They get into fights, insist on driving when they can barely walk, etc.

Never saw someone high on marijuana do much more than eat all of the Nutter Butter cookies, and certainly never saw any of them get loud, obnoxious, or remotely violent or destructive.

If I had to choose which to make illegal, it would be alcohol. But I am not the kind of person who believes that everyone’s behavior should be controlled by the lack of self-control of others. Just because some people can’t exercise moderation with alcohol or marijuana, doesn’t mean everyone can’t.

One of the biggest problems we have today, is that no one is held responsible for their behavior and choices. As a result, we are all made less free.

Stop gaslighting for weed. Changing the subject to other drugs when the one you abuse is also as bad is a bad argument.

Of course there are exceptions, but it does tend to sap one's ambitions.

Weed destroys inhibitions just as much as alcohol. These people are all excusing liars.

And it’s a leftist drug. We got leftists here pushing it. Leftists tend to use it, and it tends to make people more left and calm and ‘feelings’ and weak.

Weakness it leftist, pot leads to weakness.

“Because deep down all weed heads are leftwing democrats.”

Statements like this are not going to help you win the argument.

China remembers what Opium did to their country. And they’ve been seeking revenge on the West ever since.

“Gaslight”

You use this word merely as a talisman to ward off counterarguments. You may be fooling yourself, but there’s no sign you’re fooling anyone else.

Yup that’s what our society needs, more psychotic zombies voting. BTW, today’s recreational marijuana should be called TCH.

Whereas drunks are model citizens? Guess we should bamn that mind-altering drug too.

“I don’t want to smell it. Anyone that doesn’t, should be able to use extreme and lethal force to compel others not to.”

Wow. You don’t sound unhinged, AT ALL! Yeah, we’re totally with you! While we’re at it, let’s allow “extreme and lethal force” if a drunk vomits near you, or someone is playing loud music you don’t like, or maybe they’re wearing a cross, or a Star of David. You should definitely be allowed to use “extreme and lethal force” against anyone who does something of which you do not approve, to “compel” them to get with your program .

With each post, you further reveal yourself to be an irrational zealot.
