O'Reilly on Howard Stern This Morning
Howard Stern Radio Show | 11/15/01

Posted on 11/16/2001 1:17:08 PM PST by paltz

O'Reilly was on Stern this morning talking about The Red Cross, Clooney, The United Way, etc..., and Stern was agreeing with everything O'reilly did. In fact, O'Reilly was very complimentary toward Stern as was Stern to O'Reilly. 2 boys from the Island causing trouble in Hollywood. After all, it was Stern who called the Hollywooders chicken for running back to L.A. after 9/11. It turns out that Stern is a big watcher of the O' Reilly Factor.

See post #33. D'Amato's no pro-lifer, hence it's fully consistent for Stern to endorse.

No you see post #48.

I have absolutely no idea why Mannaggia l'America believes Al D’Amato is not prolife.

I have absolutely no idea, beyond that completely unsourced statement by Mannaggia l'America, why you believe Al D’Amato is not prolife.

“On issues like abortion rights and reproductive freedom, D'Amato votes with Jesse Helms every time -- 100%"

- Patricia Ireland (1998)

Now will you admit you were wrong?

I'm not surprised Stern is a fan of O'Reilly.

And he needs guests like that -- Curtis and Kuby are kicking everyone's butt in the ratings.

I heard last night that Rev. Robert Schuller no longer supports the death penalty and O'Reilly's book played a part in his conversion!

I know Stern is pro-death-penalty (part of why he hated Cuomo), so that is something they do differ on.

Speaking of that, do you agree with Ashcroft's decision to thwart the will of Oregon voters who support assisted suicide?

That seems like a states rights issue, too.

OK, Stern endorsed ONE pro-life candidate. In the meantime, on the air, for every other race, he has been for the pro-abort, and vocally so. It's the only issue he cared about other than when he ran for gov on a platform of construction at night, and one other thing I cannot remember.

It is a state's rights issue. Nothing in the Constitution says the states can't pass assisted suicide laws by referendum.

That, to me, is a pro-abort.

Why am I not surprised?

Stern is a sick pup, anyone older then 12 ought to be ashamed to admit they listen to him belch and fart.

Would you disagree? If so, why? It's essentially the same position adopted by Mario Cuomo.

sorry to hear that oreilly has stooped this low.

Are you kidding? A pair of media whores, each working his own side of the street. It's all showbiz; don't take it seriously. I'm sure they don't.

Yes, he is personally pro-abortion, but he does not endorse candidates on that single issue. That was my point.

As far as I know, he has endorsed three pro-abort candidates – Pataki, Whitman, and Guiliani (all three were running against fellow pro-abort candidates, so it didn’t matter which side he endorsed.)

One pro-life candidate – D’Amato (running against vehement pro-abortion candidate Chuckie Schumer.)

And one fuzzy fence-sitter on the issue – Lazio (who was certainly more pro-life than his opponent, Hillary.)

Would you disagree?

Um, no.

I was trying to say that your revelation of O'Reilly's "personally opposed" straddle squares with my instinct that his TV conservative persona is just a schtick.

Heard him on the radio in 1996 plugging Klinton, all over the abortion issue. Didn't have anything else to say about why he liked Klinton.

O'Reilly stated that celebrities really really fear the wrath of Stern and his listeners.

They are like FReepers on high-octane speed with no holds barred, most celebrities are not that stupid!

I don’t know where you’re getting your information from, but Gloria Feldt certainly believed Al D’Amato was pro-life.

My bad. I answered the "Is he pro-choice" question (which wasn't asked) - I must be going blind.
