Happy Thanksgiving Free Republic!!!
Our Heart!

This may appear to be a bit early, but some of us will be travelling, perhaps out of touch with everyone here. Some with long roads to travel, others, shorter time spent.
This computer thing of ours, has allowed the meeting of diversified geographics, differing opinions, and instantaneous reflections of our regional tastes, to form immediate bonds across a country so large and wonderful.
Some of us could only dream of visiting other parts of this great country...yet because of FR...we have...sometimes,... defending opinions other than our own, because we believe in what was set down over two hundred years ago.
Whether you are Christian Conservative, a person of The Jewish Faith, a Catholic, an Agnostic, an Atheist...and yes..a Muslim.........we have been allowed this greatest of freedoms....to congregate here at Free Republic.
We have, and will continue to debate, disagree, partake in humorous repartee, and on ocassion throw things at our monitors.
Truly, my friends, we are one of heart, one of mind, one of republic.
It is now that time of year...we should wish each other a Happy Thanksgiving!

It does the heart good to read all the good wishes and good hearts on this thread, to copy some of the Thanksgiving pictures, and to know we are one in thanking God for his goodness and praying for our troops and the President who has been given to us. Thank you, and the same to you and yours!
We've feasted on the dinner, the pies, and the requisite late-night "sammiches" on rye bread with hot pepper cheese and avocados. We've spoken with all the out-of-town relatives, watched the parades and the football games, said prayers of Thanksgiving to the Almighty, and asked His special comfort and blessing on those who suffered personal loss on 9/11 and for those who are in harms way protecting our liberty.
Spending some "freeper time" is the perfect way to wrap up a memorable Thanksgiving.

No problemo...hehe

But I am out in Hollyweird with the family, so no politics.... You may checkup up on my son at Sunset Blvd near Laurel Canyon. He's one of the few Republicans in the vicinity... however he's a recent, very lonesome, transplant from TEXAS ;-(

Howlin, thanks for the warm wishes. I hope you had a wonderful day yesterday (sounds as if you did).
looscannon, I was also out of out town for Thanksgiving enjoying (and LOVING) the musical production "Smokey Joe's Cafe" in a theater on the Gulf Coast. But the BEST part of the show you ask? (Ok, you didn't ask, but pretend that you did.....LOL) It was at the end of the performance when Rita Coolidge had everyone in the audience stand and sing "God Bless America". It was truly an awesome and very touching moment! Happy day after T-day to you, buddy.

And a belated Happy Thnanksgiving to you! At your request, I have personally arranged for there to be no significant political news on Thanksgiving. You're welcome!

Was Rita's rendition good? Much as I love the song and the feelings it stirs, some people should leave the singing of it to others. LOL! The only thing I have to say about Thanksgiving dinner yesterday...I can't believe I ate the wholllllllle thing. Happy Thanksgiving, Irma!
