Tattoos and tongue piercings are "Idiot marks", IMHO!

It reflects badly on her...not me...obviously you have children with these things?

No, it does not reflect badly on her. The morals and values she holds are what are a direct reflection of her and a tattoo, contrary to knee jerk reactions, is not indicitive of loose morals. That is a summation you have made up in your own mind.

As far as my children go, last year my oldest daughter was given Winnie the Pooh decals for her finger nails for her birthday. Oh the horrors.

At first I was in support of a constitutional amendment to outlaw body piercing. It's not about "freedom", for tongue piercing is exceedingly evil. But then, I realized people would do it themselves and risk even worse infection. Maybe the best thing would be for everyone to print the article and give to those who are thinking about getting that sickening procedure, and maybe they'll think twice.

Please tell me you are not registered to vote. For that matter, please tell me you are not even driving an automobile.

Living in Sweden has given me a new found respect for "mind your own business."
Although tattoos and piercings are not for me, I'd fight for your right to free expression.

Looking at America from over here, it is striking how many otherwise good people in the US get off by putting down others.

I thought piercings must be potentially deadly since you can't donate blood for a year after any new piercing. That is the reason I don't do any more ear piercing. Now I have something to show my kids, so they won't want any more strange piercings. So far, my sons have no piercings and my daughter has only ears pierced, so far, so good!

Probably best to just tell him as you pull up if you want regular or hi-test. Although it might be amusing the first few times to hear him try to ask... ;)

It DOES reflect badly on her......haven't you ever heard of First Impressions??? Unless she gets to know everyone she comes in contact with her, people will have their impressions of her. Sorry if you can't face facts.

I was just going to post the same thing. I thought you would need to have brain damage BEFORE the piercing, as I cannot imagine a rational, sane person submitting to such mutilation.

I was at TOWER RECORDS the other day buying some CDs, and the clerk that processed my sale had not only a tongue piercing, but had metal on his lips, nose and eyebrows as well. He must be a joy when he goes through a metal detector at the airport. I hope he likes his job at TOWER RECORDS because he looked like a total freak and would probably never be able to get a job anyplace else.

One thing is certain, because I have discussed it with employers. Many will see it as a sign of questionable judgement, regardless of whether you think it should be so.

I agree completely. It is evidence of a character flaw and should be a red flag to potential employers, husbands/wives, etc.
