Just full of sophomoric Socratic questions aren't you? I often wonder what life must to like to live on the set of Jeopardy where every statement must be phrased as a question. And Libertarians wonder why people laugh at them.
And you have every right to ignore it if it really bothers you. But, your post sounds less like a desire to ignore, and more like a wish to be included in, the discussion.

This might come as a surprise to you, but I'm not worked up at all. This is a discussion forum. People come here to exchange ideas. I happen to believe that there is no God. Others here believe that there is a God. They explain why they think what they think. I explain why I think what I think. If we do so dispassionately, we all learn and grow.
The process is called discussion. If discussion of religious faith makes you uncomfortable, maybe you would be better off not participating in such discussions.
I think OWK is seeking. Just MHO. Take his sometimes abrasive mannerisms with a large grain of salt, and address his questions and points. Who knows?
Ah, now we are getting somewhere. Why did Adonai not choose to reveal himself to the Babylonians or the Greeks?. These were two powerful and sprawling civilizations and His word would have been carried quickly and with more momentum. But no, He chose the tiny and pathetic, nomadic slave people, the jews. And they beat the odds. Where are all the Greek and Babylonian gods now? They had such a huge following and tremendous head start and yet they are all gone. Why did God choose a 17 year old peasant girl to restore the Dauphin in France? Surely there were better choices. But, she beat the odds, I guess.
That's part of the message of the Lord. So many figures of the bible beat the odds. Why? He wants you to know that you can beat the odds too.
It's a shame you didn't feel the same way about the guy who was banned.
And a lot of our usual suspects here are using it against Christians.
Actually, you would not. You are far too devoted to being a contrarian for that to happen.
This is actually one of the big problems I have with organized religion. People tell me that free-will acceptance of Jesus is the only way that a human being can make the cut, and get into heaven. That's why they spend so much time in missionary work and the like.
But what kind of benevolent God would play so cruel a practical joke, as to have you live in some jerkwater hovel in Tibet, and spend your whole life never having even heard of Jesus, much less accepted him... and then roast your butt on a spit for all eternity for being unlucky enough to be born there.
Doesn't sound like a loving God to me.

The whole notion of religious faith, is predicated on the willful suspension of disbelief....
