A short summary of the original article in Turkish. I kind of souped up the title though. I'm getting the hang of this journalism thing :-)

Excellent work! Use the enemy's tactics!

According to the history books, getting into a war against the Turks is a very bad idea.

What a bunch of geniuses those Palestinians are. Now they've got not only Israel mad at them, but Turkey too. Not a great idea to get not only the most powerful military in the middle east mad at you, but a NATO ally as well.

thanks for the post. I'm glad we have our Turkish friends in the region. Too bad that they have some of the worst neighbors around!

Turk2, you forgot to ping me dude, what's up with that?
Oh yes, the Palestinians have gone and really done it now, not only the biggest military in the region, but a NATO ally, and an Israeli Ally, me thinks the Palestinians are not only barbarians, but they are terminally stupid. YOU DO NOT PISS OFF THE TURKS, NOT EVER!! Bunch of fricking MORONS!!!

Many thanks for the post, Turk2.
My condolences to the family of this very young officer (a_Turk, on the photo you posted on another thread he looks even younger than his stated age).
As I said earlier, it is really an abomination that Palestinians would resort to murdering someone who actually came to protect them. The life is lost, however, and nobody will replace him for his mother...

the aggrement between Israel and Turkey in relation with the modernization of 170 Turkish
M60A3 MBTs by IMI, Israel
IIRC, radio commentator Michael Medved mentioned that Israel has an agreement with
a country to provide sufficient airspace for adequate training of the Isreali Air Force.
That country is...Turkey.

"9 Bullets in Maj. Toytunc's Head"
This was no accident. The Major was targeted. This was a hit.

How is this murder story going over in Turkey?
In any war, I want the Turks on my side, and not my enemy. Stupid move by the Palestineans.
To: Turk2
Turkey will prove to play as significant a role in any WWIII scenario as the US and Russia.
Picking a fight with Turkey shows their ignorance. May the strong survive!

What? No ping list for this post?:-)
The world is replete with unsung heros who took their turn at maintaining civilization. May your compatriot rest in peace.

I made a business trip to Izmir in 1992 for NATO. Next to visiting my ancestor's home in Wales, it was one of the most interesting trips I've ever taken. Great people. Great food. Significant historical sites to visit. I learned some basic Turkish before embarking on the trip. It took almost 5 minutes before I had to admit to the concierge that I was a rank beginner. Visiting the marketplace in town was a real education...and a great opportunity to shop for some neat items for friends and family. I'm still a bit unnerved by all the police carrying 9mm sub-machineguns on the streets. BTW, thanks for the posting.

Hmmmm...A very convenient murder. There has been some resistance in Turkey to helping the USA and Israel. This goes a long way to silencing that.
To: Turk2
This is so typical of the Palestinian attitude. All the wailing and mourning when one of theirs dies, yet not so much as an apology when they murder anyone else in cold blood.

Sounds like a brutal murder commited by a gang of thugs/terrorists. Then they dissed the funeral.
Thanks for posting this and keep us posted on what is going to be happening there.
