Bush Reaffirms Vision of Palestinian State
|
April 2 PHILADELPHIA (Reuters) - President Bush said on Tuesday he hoped Palestinians could have "their own peaceful state" and vowed the United States would work to stop "terrorist activities" aimed at derailing peace efforts in the Middle East. As Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon offered Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat a "one-way ticket" to exile and Israeli troops invaded more West Bank towns, Bush reaffirmed his commitment to a Palestinian state. "I've got a vision for the Middle East that says Israel must be allowed to exist," he said at a fund-raising reception in Philadelphia. "I hope that they (the Palestinians) can have their own peaceful state ... but there are those who want to destroy that vision, there are those that want to murder to make sure that vision never comes to be." Under pressure from European allies, Arab nations and critics in the United States to do more to stop the escalating violence in the Middle East, Bush said: "The United States of America will stand strong and continue to insist that those who yearn for peace in the Middle East and other regions around the world must do everything they can to stop the terrorist activities all aimed at making sure that peace does not exist." |
I could swear, he said Arafat could go into exile?
Prime Minister Ariel Sharon (news - web sites) who said he would let Arafat leave his besieged headquarters in the West Bank city of Ramallah only on a "one-way ticket." "Arafat said there is not a single Palestinian who will accept going into exile under any circumstances," Erekat told Reuters. "Sharon's announcement is preparation for an attempt to kill Arafat." He said Sharon's intention was to kill Arafat, despite assurances by Israel that it has no intention of physically harming the Palestinian leader.

Sharon may have said it. Bush says it but so did Clinton. I don't care who says it, the creation of a terrorist state in order to appease the terrorists will only breed more terrorism. And anyone who supports this idiocy is a moron who endangers the civilized world.
Hasn't ANYONE learned anything by the Sept 11th attacks!!? Terrorists are not to be tolerated ANYWHERE. They must ALL be exterminated along with the states the sponsor them, harbor them, or excuse their actions.
Anyone that says that is not thinking.
Wrong. I think we should give them a state. And it needs to be placed where the issue of direct day-to-day contact/conflict with Israel is eliminated. New Palestine (not that there was ever an "old") ought to be located somewhere about Tierra del Fuego.
LOL
What a horrifying vision!!! Daniel has seen these kind of nightmarish 'visions'...
Daniel 8:27 And I Daniel fainted, and was sick certain days; afterward I rose up, and did the king's business; and I was astonished (see Hithpolel below, in red)* at the vision, but none understood it.

Daniel 9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate [Polel], even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate [Qal].

Daniel 12:11 And from the time that the daily [sacrifice] shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate [Qal] set up, [there shall be] a thousand two hundred and ninety days.
Who's got the legitimate property rights here, the children of the Creator, or the lying murderous children of the destroyer???

What is this??? The destroyers are the ones who want a Pali state as a [further] means to destroy Israel... the last step to their 'final solution'.
This is a vision of peace peace when there is no peace, if ever I saw one!!!
PS Dan 8 is so fascinating a passage to me that I haven't ever dared to post about it...
"... but there are those who want to destroy that vision, there are those that want to murder to make sure that vision never comes to be."
Malachi 41: For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.
2: But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.
3: And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts.
4: Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and judgments.
5: Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD:
6: And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.
I do not see a reasonable middle ground on this issue.
