Are only stupid and dishonest people criticizing the Patriot Act?

The article may have errors, but overall, the issue is an important one.

This act is horrendous, and its passage has made America a police state. Only President Bush's morals and consciousness prevented it from being fully implemented.

When you have actually read the act and understand its implications, you may criticize those who are against it. Until then, calling people names merely reflects your own ignorance.

'Why post these lying screeds?'
"...the issue is an important one"

That's why you think it's OK to lie about the issue, because it's important.
Fascinating "logic"...

A lie is a deliberate misstatement, which is what we have here:
How could the author not know what Ashcroft actually said?
How could an American law professor not know Marbury v Madison?

Study the Patriot Act for yourself- stop parroting people you admit are dishonest and/or incompetent.
