It's a new custom. When your child dies, you go on a shopping spree and buy yourself a new car. If there are enough donations, maybe a trip to Disneyworld and a new house. It's the latest in California grieving.

Do you know anyone who has a life insurance policy on their child? I don't. The purpose of insurance is supposed to be as replacement income if the person the policy is on dies and is no longer bringing in that income. Unless it turned out to be true that something exceedingly nefarious was going on, she would not be an income producer, she would be a consumer of income.
