The DC Chapter of Free Republic held its latest planning meeting today and SO FAR SO GOOD! We are well on our way towards throwing a rally this town will not soon forget.   Your moral support is most appreciated - your presence more so.  Freepers from around our nation - to include "fly-over" country have arranged to attend - we hope you will too.

We are going to make this happen - NO Vietnam war era cancerous infection on our watch.   This time around the "people" will be out there demonstrating what is right about our country.

We are getting close to confirming our speakers and will post the rally agenda soonest

Here are details:

The DC Chapter of Free Republic and Rally For America are pleased to announce The Patriots Rally for America (the "Rally") to be held in Washington, D.C. on April 20, 2002 at the Washington Monument.

The Rally will be held on the Northwest Quadrant of the Washington Monument grounds near the intersection of 17th Street, N.W. and Constitution Avenue, N.W.

This Rally will be a family-friendly event to show support for America and for the men and women of our Armed Forces.

Nationally-known conservative leaders and friends of Free Republic are being invited to speak at the Rally. Patriotic and topical music will set the tone of this most extraordinary rally - please plan on attending.

We have set a tentative schedule for the Rally to begin at 11:00 a.m. and end around 3:00 p.m. The Rally will be held rain or shine.

We are asking those who attend the Rally to bring American flags, large and small, and signs with messages supporting America and our troops. Please inform your families, friends and co-workers and urge them to attend The Patriots Rally for America on April 20th.

This will be a great opportunity to peacefully counter the anti-war rally and march being held the same day in other areas of D.C. by the usual collection of America-hating communist/leftist/anarchist groups.

The survival of America is at stake in the war on terrorism. We cannot, and will not, allow the America-hating left to take to the streets unanswered, as happened during Vietnam.

The Patriots Rally for America will provide an opportunity for all those who love our country to stand up publicly for America and to support our troops as they fight the war on terrorism.

Further announcements will be forthcoming. Please mark your calendar for April 20th and stay tuned.

Dave, I know you are busy with a thousand things but could you tell me the status of the flier. I'm 'geek challanged' and would like to print out a few today that I can place around Northern Virginia this week. Keep it simple for me, will ya?

Sent. Registered's Eagle has inspired me, so I'm going out to the Woodbridge (Occoquan Bay) Wildlife Refuge to see some real Bald Eagles (and Ospreys).

Imagine all that green space full of people with lawn chairs, picnic blankets and coolers -- all of them focused on the stage and listening to inspirational speeches extolling the greatness that is America and supporting the men and women in the U.S. Armed Forces who are fighting the war on terrorism. After being convoyed by Angelwood and tgsltakoma from the Pentagon to the meeting, I don't feel so bad about not finding the location before. Might as well have been with Marion in the swamps; the commies could never find us.

Angelwood and I drove in tight formation to keep you from being swept away in traffic. I noticed that your left front parking light was lit, but the right was out... don't want the Parris Glendening-Kathleen Kennedy Townsend MSP guys to have PC to disrupt your life one day on the side of the road because of a little light bulb. That reminds me, I need to fix my backup lights...

Great progress reported on all fronts. The rally is going to be terrific. I'll send my check soon. I know it's a tough time of year, as the Feds and States are confiscating money from everyone, but I hope our FRiends can spare a dime.

Yikes! I forgot to send my MD return in. As is typical here in Massachusetts South, I owe them $100. Maybe that will help them repair the damage to the State buildings that were shot up by the constabulary last month after the low-speed fish truck chase. Y'know, if it wasn't true it might be funny.

And thanks for the $$$ committment to the cause. The Rally's gonna be GREAT!

As you know, I was in DC yesterday (from 7am) for the Cherry Blossom Parade, along with approximately 10,000 other "tourists." While I was watching the parade, I got to thinking (look out!)... The weather's going to be warm and sunny (per Dave's promise). There will be a whole lot of tourists from out of town as well as DC area folks, who will be sightseeing... especially now that the Washington Monument is open again after the restoration work.

These folks may not know that the commies are going to be in town, and they'll be disgusted by what they will see and hear from them... but then they'll hear our Rally... and they will follow the sound... and they will join us, too!

And not only that, the circle of groups who have been invited (via phone contact, in person and email) and are spreading the word to their other friends keeps growing!

As Mr. Natural might say Freep on Freepin' on!

ditto

I read your buddy's article a few days ago. I ditto the recommendation to all that they read it, and then make plans to attend the Rally...

Before the parade began yesterday morning, I walked over the Rally site - from the Constitution Ave border to the 17th Street border and back up to the grove of cherry trees. I stood at the back and looked towards the stage area - and then stood at the "stage" and faced the monument. It's a beautiful site for the Rally - perfect, in fact, for our subject matter; and it's big enough to hold a whole bunch of people!

Angelwood... you and Kristinn, and the rest of the DC Chapter hard corps, are building a great Rally. I have a feeling that all the lost sleep, all the number crunching and equipment-shopping, all the phone calls, all the faxes, all the everything... is going to make this Rally a great success. We are going to have a fantastic time!
