Seattle Council of Churches creates Internet web site to help Fidel Castro’s dictatorship

By Pastorswatch

I don’t know about you, but I don’t think it’s very becoming for a major religious organization to support terrorist regimes that murder and jail their subjects for being critical of its draconian policies.

Below is a list of the pro communist activities and statements that are presently being carried out by the Seattle Council of Churches own “SeattleCuba.org” and “Seattle/Cuba friendship Committee” website. Apparently the Council has put together this website to promote its one-sided, and far left view of Cuban affairs. You can view this hilarious but disturbing website at:

http://www.seattlecuba.org/Main.htm

Look towards the bottom of the page and you will notice theChurch Council’s logo! They are not ashamed of supporting third world tyrannies it seems! We have personally saved to our computers the whole context of the Council’s Cuba site as evidence in case the Council finds out about our actions, and later covertly tries to erase the evidence.

The Seattle-Cuba Friendship Committee Meets on the 2nd Thursday of each month at 7pm in the Parish House at the Central Lutheran Church at 1710 11th Ave. This is outrageous, and it merits civil and lawful demonstrations by Seattle’s decent and patriotic citizens!

This is a call to all patriotic Christians, especially Lutherans and Catholics, (and people of all faiths) to protest the Council’s support of a regime that is on the US State Department list of nations that sponsor and harbor terrorists. Please be mindful that the Cuban Revolution has also squelched and suppressed religion on the island, as well as jailing, torturing, executing and exiling those religious individuals opposed to the Fidel Castro’s one party atheist dictatorship.

Not in any order of importance, although number one is the most absurd, especially for a church organization to undertake.

.

1. Campaign to support and free five Cuban nationals found guilty in an American court on charges of murder conspiracy in the deaths of three American citizens and one legal resident, attempting to infiltrate U.S. Southern Command military bases, locating vulnerable points of entry into the state of Florida for the importation of arms and explosives, and failing to register themselves as foreign agents. This Cuban spy ring was known as the "Wasp Network", and it was the largest espionage cell in the U.S. since the collapse of the Soviet Union! The Seattle Council of Churches is trying to “liberate” these individuals

2. On the Council’s Cuba website there is a link to none other than “The National Lawyers Guild! http://www.nlg.org/

As you all might know, the National Lawyers Guild is a communist front group created in 1936 by a caucus of Communist Party, U.S.A. (CPUSA) lawyers assisted by the International Labor Defense, an American agency of the Comintern (Communist International). For more info on the National Lawyers Guild go here:

http://www.geocities.com/CapitolHill/Senate/1777/nlg.htm

http://www.geocities.com/CapitolHill/Senate/1777/nlgterr.htm

3. Also, on the Council’s website there is a link to the Center for Cuban Studies in New York City. Everyone in New York knows this center is a front and money making scam for Cuba. This innocent sounding group according to historian Ronald Radosh was founded with help from the Cuban government and its supporters in New York City. Radosh who is an ex 1960s leftist also notes that the Center for Cuban Studies is “a semi-official propaganda agency for Castro in the United States”. It’s reputed to be a wing of the Cuban Direccion General de Inteligencia (DGI) the Cuban intelligence agency. The Center is also know to travel to Cuba and buy art from starving Cuban artists for a few dollars, and then for a large markup – sell the Cuban art at outrageous prices at their New York City gallery! www.cubanartspace.net/ The exploitative sales of Cuban art by the Center for Cuban Studies have made its boss, Sandy Levinson, rich. The proceeds of the art doesn’t go back to the poor artists in Cuba, but instead the monies go directly into the coffers of the Cuban regime. In 2001 Harry Belafante preformed a benefit concert for the Center for Cuban Studies at Lincoln Center, New York City. We don’t have to tell you were the money ended up!

http://www.frontpagemag.com/archives/radosh/2000/rr07-18-00p.htm

http://www.geocities.com/dcjarviks/Idler/vIIIn61.html

4. Sponsoring and advertising a trip to celebrate communist May Day in Cuba, as well as a two week labor conference in a country where it’s illegal for citizens to form and belong to independent labor unions. The Seattle Church Council’s Cuba site is teamed up with the notorious Cuban government controlled Confederation of Cuban Workers (CTC) and a fringe group that is more of an oxymoron than anything – The U.S./Cuba Labor Exchange.

5. A myriad of anti American speeches by Fidel Castro in which the dictator uses his famous phrase “Cuban terrorist Mafia in Miami” to denote Cuban Americans who are opposed to dictatorship and are pro democracy.

6. The website lists Marxist style propaganda communiqués released by the Cuban Interests Section in Washington D.C.

7. The Council’s site encourages and instructs American citizens to break U.S. law by going to Cuba illegally. Their website regarding this issue starts off by saying, “Pssst.... wanna go to Cuba?”.

8. Slandering the late great Cuban author and poet Reinaldo Arenas by criticizing the motion picture based on his life (Before Night Falls), and downplaying or lying about communist Cuba’s horrendous treatment of gays and lesbians. This is from a so called progressive church group that supposedly supports gay rights. Reinaldo Arenas was extremely critical of Fidel Castro’s

abuses.

9. The Council’s website states that cop killers, “Leonard Peltier and Mumia Abu Jamal are arguably political prisoners, not to mention the hundreds of people on death row who are victims of politics.” The Council calls people on death row in the United States “political prisoners”! This is hilarious! The Council brings up long gone concentration camps for Japans (sic) Americans”, and Kent State incident as examples of US aggression. What this has to do with Cuba – we don’t know!

10. The Council downplays and disrespects Cuban human rights dissidents on the island by stating that the “US is at war against Cuba” and that an American act of aggression (the American embargo) then “allows and forces Cuba to react harshly towards anyone who appears to be conspiring with the enemy” i.e. Cuba’s peaceful and faith based internal opposition to Fidel Castro’s dictatorship! Give us a break!

11. Defames Miami Cuban Americans by having the temerity of calling them “sinners” with “mafia ties” . Read the actual quote below – remember this is coming from a Christian church group folks!

“SPEAKING OF SINNERS, WHAT ABOUT THOSE PEOPLE IN MIAMI?  Long known to support terrorism against Cuba/Castro, the wealthy elite of Miami, with all their mafia ties, are essentially nasty bunch.  They even made a vague threat to bomb the office of the Seattle Committee to Welcome the Cuban Delegation when we were trying to bring Castro to the WTO!  (Detailed articles will be added to support these claims soon!)”

12. The Council’s Cuba website advertises a banner and link to the infamous Granma International Internet page and newspaper that no one reads in Cuba anyway. The pages of Granma are valued and fought over by Cuban citizens, not for their journalistic attributes, but because they make great pieces of tiolet paper in a nation where the governmnet rations everything. Granma International is a Soviet style tabloid that is recognized the world over as the officialist propaganda organ of the Cuban Communist Party. And you foolishly thought the Church Council would promote publications listing bingo night, pot luck suppers, marriage and baptism announcements! Think again!

13. The Council publishes and makes a big deal about a report by the Cuban dictatorship via the Cuban Interest Section about the closure of the Russian electronic spy base at Lourdes, Cuba. Is this something a normal church group should be concerned with? Electronic espionage?

14. Unfairly states and encourages - without regard to independent alternatives, dissidents, or human rights oppositionists on the island - to go to Cuba to learn about the “Cuban people and the Revolution for yourself.” (This is an actual quote from the website!) This is an extremely one-sided view and it’s indication of the partisan and prejudice nature of this website, not to mention the special interest agenda the Seattle Council of Churches is trying to peddle.

It's long - but I think one should read it - visit the site - leave your opinion - tell your friends - and civil protest these folks - make a big stink especially if you are religious, patriotic, anti communist, and hate the song Kumbaya!God bless America!

Look for the Saudi label

What? Isn't that a bit of a stretch?

I'm not sure.

Yesterday, on Fox News, Tony Snow hosted a conversation with Bernard Lewis, and he said something tantalizingly brief, yet very interesting, and perhaps revealing about the Saudis, but it wasn't followed up on.

It was something to the effect that the House of Saud had, in the past 25 or so years, essentially bought its way into American universities (USC is a prime example), mosques, and, if I might quote..."has promulgated its own particular form of Christianity," in America.

As I said, it wasn't followed up on. But I sure began to think of a church experience I went through a couple of years ago.

I mean - without seeming to look for strawberries, or anything - this subtle creeping of Wahabbism into the American scene and even consciousness over a quarter century, is unsettling, to say the least.

What a bunch of commie creeps. Their web page does not say which churches belong to Seattle Council...are they a branch of National Council of Churches? I believe that's the name of organization run by Joan Brown Campbell who was instrumental in kidnapping Elian for Castro.

Interesting.
The list of "churches" are mostly members of dying denominations whose numbers are dwindling -
whose hierarchy have created god in their own image.

For the most part there were no surprises. But a couple on the list were more than a little disturbing.

Can someone in the know please tell me what denominations are not represented on that list? A couple examples? It looks to me as if every Christian denomination and congregation is on that list...correct me - I hope I'm wrong.

To name a few off the top of my head:

Free Methodist
The Wesleyan Church
Independent Methodist
Church of God (Anderson)
Orthodox Presbyterian
Salvation Army
The Church of the Nazarene
Evangelical Presbyterian
Christian Reformed Church

And you will note that the Presbyterian Church in America and the Southern Baptists are represented by two Korean congregations, which may (or may not) view things differently than the majority of those congregations in the U.S.

Bienvenidos!

Dr. Biscet, who uncovered Cuba's gruesome practice of putting newborn babies in Ziploc bags and letting them suffocate to death, without the parents' knowledge, being led away to the Cuban gulag.

Too many churches contribute their members money to the National Council of Churches. This has never been anything other than a communist front organization. Over thirty years ago I belonged to a large church of one of the major religions. I told them that I didn't want to contribute any money to the NC of C. They assured me that they didn't give them any money. When I challenged them on their next budget showing their contribution to the NC of C they told me that they "had" to contribute. I told them that I didn't have to and haven't heard from them since. No, I did hear from them for a while when they complained that I wasn't sending them any more money.

OMG, I'm within spitting distance of three of those churches, and I live on an island. No wonder I've never found a church I like here. They're ALL subversive.

I'm surprised that our Catholic church is on this list, however, as the pastor is a Philippino who's been known to give good anti-commie sermons. I'll have to ring him up.
