My wife serves on local United Way funding committees and they are apparently funding Boy Scouts here. Don't know if they are "cutting back" or giving full funding. Will find out.

I will hand deliver my time, help and cash directly to those in need including Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts versus making em beg from these SOB's for my money I intended for them in the first place.............sad IMHO that these organizations prey on the emotions of those wanting to help to fill their own pockets with "administrative" cost's............

Me too. And I urge others, especially ferderal employees to not participate in UW.

More proactively, I make a (tax deductible)cash contribution to BSA annually. I urge you to do so too.

That's okay because me and my whole extended family and every person I can talk to are "defunding" the United Way. I am forever done with that smacked arse outfit. All the petitions in the world don't matter - - these scumbags in charge will still think in the same disgusting, perverted, liberal Democrat way. My mission is to convince every person I can to stop giving so much as a dime to the scumbag United Way. If enough employees at corporations who are routinely shaken down by United Way would simply say, "No", maybe the whole stinking mess would go under.
