Even terminal, perhaps...
You have pretty much nailed the situation to the cross. The situation you describe should have taken place in 1948, but noooooo, the arab world decided right then to continue, perpetuate, extend, escalate, pursue, further, the familial dispute that has become a war of genocide against Israel and has been going on since the days of Abraham.
There are valid reasons on both sides of the coin, but the methods used by the Arabs are not to be tolerated in a civilized world, at the peril of our very existance. The world choice is, Israel exists where they are, or they do not. Nothing in between is possible with the present arab attitude, and I question what amount of blood it would take to actually change the Palestinian/Arab/Muslim/Mohammedin minds.
The bottom line is, we as a nation should not, nay cannot live as we now live, in fear of the next attack which will surely come, if we sit back and wait, engage in diplomacy and talk, when it is patently obvious to me that talk is expensive when dealing with people who originated horse trading. We talk we lose. Of course we must talk, but we need sunset on talk after it becomes clear that the arab world has no intention of allowing talk to change their attitude. It is that simple.

As a percentage of the population, it is very relevant to have a firm grasp of the mindset of Islam, and its level of intolerance for dissent and other religions specifically.
The history of the Middle in the last century and a half is absolutely necessary and relevant for assessing the current attempt to surround Israel with Muslim states.
Once the new "State" of "palestine" is official, the destruction of Jews will be only a matter of time, and the thought of shrugging our collective shoulders and saying "Oh well", is ugly distateful and predictable.
I for one cannot countenance it as an option, simply on moral and human terms.
Sounds great, doesn't it?
And the beauty of it is, all we would be risking in order to deny reality and past performance is the lives of several thousand Jews.
I am sure it is worth the price to test our faith in human nature, using the phrase rather loosely...
"Miserable failure" is so true. Perhaps one of the more minor examples but very visual if you saw any of the clips this weekend of the telethon for martyrs hosted by the Saudis? Saudis - all men in the shots I saw manning the phones and computers - decked out in full headgear and flowing white robes that appeared to be getting in the way of picking up phones, using keyboards etc. None of the equipment in that room - phones,'puters, tv production equipment had been invented, manufactured or improved anywhere in the Arab world. Quite striking.
Just as their culture was never able to develop their own oil extraction and distribution - that would be too much like work. Seriously, the ME ideal is to have enough servants or slaves that one never has to turn a tap. We laugh at the 72 virgins but what about a paradise that also awards palaces of gold and 10,000 slaves? A more useless people has never existed. No wonder lefties and anti-America academia feels such affinity for them.
Before any answers be advised that by the criteria of the PLO Charter, I am a "Palestinian".
You're not really looking that hard, are you Larry?
Never will be? Never is a long time.
I would suggest putting it in Afghanistan...
Impute motives in an attempt to mock or demonize. I'll add you to the list of those who, mistakenly, think using Saul Alinsky's Rules for Radicals as a guideline to posting wins them points or adds anything to this forum. Tactic #5 and tactic #13 are the extent of your repertoire however. Haven't they told you to read and use the entire thing? Try another next time. Takes more effort but you will learn.
Isn't that what you've done in a rather poor attempt to rebutt my point?
There is a solution, Larry. The fact that you refuse to see it is your shortcoming, not mine.
Maybe we can give them the glassy radio-active ruins of Baghdad....
