Carrier Air-Conditioning Corporation has severed funding the Boy Scouts to the tune of $42,025. A long time supporter of the Scouts, Carrier made the decision because of the BSA policy of protecting boys from homosexual leaders.
This decision will likely have a profound and lasting effect on the boys in the five New York counties served by the Hiawatha Council: Oswego, Lewis, Onondaga, Jefferson and St. Lawrence.

Since this story appeared on April 10, thousands of Scout supporters from across the nation have expressed their outrage to the Carrier Corporation for giving the Scouts the cold shoulder.

On behalf of the Boys Scouts of America, thank you for your continued and energetic support!
Your Friends at Grassfire.net
P.S. We received a number of e-mails urging us to point out the good things going on with the Scouts, today. We apologize if it seems that we are only pointing out the struggles and conflicts, but we feel strongly about the Scouts, and the entire Scouting experience as it pertains to life in general. But like a nightwatchman, who guards what is valuable, we must sound the alarm.
There are few things more valuable to the United States than the Boy Scouts of America. That's why we feel compelled to do all we can to protect them. Thank you for your support.
You may want to send Carrier Corp. your views on this.
Not many people, nationally, have signed this petition. Will you click the above link and help, and sign? (>]
Good opportunity to call Carrier to tell them you're in the market for their product, then hit them with the question of the Boy Scouts.......let them know you are buying another brand. :-}
McQuay might be an alternative to some Carrier products.
Too bad it's a long time until the next AHR Expo (Jan 2003 in Chicago); be neat to freep them there, right on the show floor!
Defunding BSA appears to be a corporate trend of late. How and why are these companies making such decisions? Do they really think they engender more goodwill in the community by supporting gays instead of supporting boy scouts?
This is shameful of corporations to pull their funding. The retraction of corporate funds will greatly diminish scouting programs in both size and quality. What will replace the BSA? Will we see the homosexuals everywhere helping little old ladies cross the street?
Maybe they should create and fund gay scouts, and just see how many people would show up. I would like to think that no parent would ever place their kid in such a situation, but unfortunately, plenty of parents are willing to experiment with their kids. Otherwise, we wouldn't see the homosexual agenda garner such success in places like Massachesettes.
Good job! And here's a bump for activism!
Dear Mr President of the Carrier Corp.
YOU JUST LOST A CUSTOMER.
The Boys Scouts are not the enemy. Militant homosexuals are, you goof ball.
