I wouldn't call what goes on in public schools "play time".

The next time someone asks you, "aren't you concerned about socialization?" firmly reply, "Not really. My child gets socialized at home. Once a day I take her into the bathroom, beat her up and steal her lunch money."

The NEA has their head in the sand when it comes to home schooling.

Actually, the NEA has its head up its...

Some have claimed it was a deliberate policy started in Prussia to produce compliant subjects.

That may have been me. You can find that information in this essay, " The Public School Nightmare" by 1991 NY State Teacher of the Year, John Taylor Gatto.

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS:

I must tell you that I was very impressed with the article. It was very well written and I think Kyle has a future as a columist and maybe as a radio talk show host. We could sure use more people like him.

What the education establishment had better realize is that there are far more important things in life than this kumbya "let's all get along" nonsense they're pushing. Gaining skills and knowledge in vital fields takes precedence over socializing and getting along as far as I'm concerned and I know theere are far more people who agree with me than disagree with me on this point.

There is never going to be any getting along between christians and conservatives and athiests and progressives. The latter does not want to co-exist peacefully with the former. They only want to co-exist until they can control, dominate and eventually destroy.

It is not our responsibility as conservatives and christians to appease or get along with or avoid offending athiests and progressives. To say otherwise is not only short-sighted, but stupid, idiotic and foolish.
Regards.

Why on earth would any parent who really cares about their children send them to public school?

Exactly!

As I have been saying lately around here: Public education is child abuse.

The irony is, in the business world, it's a never ending repeat of high school. As a manager, you feel more like a school principal, then a professional business person. The business I am in is manufacturing, and it may be more prevalent in that industry, but I'm inclined to think not.

I cannot wait to use that line the next time some moron asks me, "Well, aren't you concerned about socialization?"

Bump for a great post! All children of National Education Association members should be required to attend inter-city schools without bodyguards. They need to socialize.

"GREAT IS DIANA OF THE EPHESIANS!"

Today, if your education consisted of public schools for 12 years, you'd never know the context of that quote.
100 years ago, every 12th grader would have.
Sad.

In my community the lie is highlited in neon lights. Some Home Schoolers would like to participate in the nearby school's extracurricular activites. (sports, band, etc.) This is not allowed. The NEA is opposed. If they were truly concerned about Home Schoolers socialization, they would welcome this participation.

Yep-- it's all about the control, dude... They don't give a crap about the kiddies...
