I liked it that Bibi was bold enough to make such a statement about clinton ... and that he is aware of the Rumsfeld statement: "...to kill them..." ....... it was a special moment to hear and see that news conference.
Annnnnnnd, that he respects W, and states it in no uncertain terms, is to his merit also.
REALLY enjoyed your report. Thanks for taking the time to share this event with us.

As for "planting the seeds of democracy", we did that in Japan, but it was possible only after utterly breaking their will to continue warring. We did not negotiate and leave the people susceptible to demagogues saying that they COULD have won that war, and so start it up again. That's how we dealt with Germany in WWI and it was a mistake. This war on Arab terrorism must be as brutal and final as our war on Japan. Then the "seeds of democracy" have a chance.
LOL! I forgot about that!
OK, let's see if I can do it justice........and remember, if you don't think it's funny, it's Bibi's joke....not mine!
A Jew was being fed to a starving lion in a Roman colliseum. He was standing in the middle of the arena, when the lion came toward him. The Jew was seen to whisper something in the lion's ear, and the lion turned and walked away. The crowd erupted in cheers, and gave the Jew the thumbs up sign when he appeared before the emperor. But the emperor was curious and asked him what he said to the lion. The Jew told him, "I said, 'You can only eat me, if you promise to speak after dinner!'"
Then Bibi went on to say that the only thing worse than sitting and listening to a speaker after a big dinner was having to speak after a big dinner!
(Well, maybe you had to be there, but it was funny at the time!)
This was too exciting to keep this to myself!
Moral clarity. What a wonderful trait to be known by.
Thanks so much for sharing your evening.
Big Bibi BUMP!
This was abundantly clear in his presentation. It must be utterly destroyed, and I know from his confident statements that he believes President Bush has the will to do just that.
This was very clear, patricia, and should be noted by some of the TV/radio pundits and the armchair critics that hang around here.
I'll second that!
I am afraid of Islam militants. They are a cult of death...and no one, not even Kant could have been expected to predict such absolute barbarism displayed by these Islamic animals who parade as genuine muslims. And he is right....once democracy gains a foothold, once the funding is halted for these sick groups, then peace may happen.
Thanks for sharing this, thanks for the terrific write-up and tell you hubby it is terrific his question received a response! Too KEWL~!
I've already told him, but I will certainly tell him again! I'm quite sure he won't mind!
And thanks for your kind words, Republic. They mean so much to me!! Thanks, friend!
Whew! ....breathing a sigh of relief here.....
But tell me......did you like the joke? :o)
Very good post, thanks for sharing the experience with us.
Bibi Netanyahu's Salient perpective is treasured and one that I earnestly seek.
I watched him in a spliced up interview done on "Meet the Press" about a week ago, and Russert asked something to the affect of "If we attack Iraq....what about the Arab response?"...
...and Netanyahu responded with a succinct...
"Does it matter?"
LOL...I still laugh a week later.
