I remember that! And then there was Madonna, who I really do like, in the front row going, 'who the hell is Steely Dan?'

Eminem should be silenced*clap*clap*clap*..Way to go, 1st ammendment for only those that agree with what the emotional ones on this board deem correct.
Pfft...please. If this guy said "F*ck you Hillary Clinton" on his album, there would be a bum rush this weekend at the music stores with many so-called conservatives in line.
Lighten up, it's a damn album, the more attention you pay to it, the more it's gonna sell. The guy has a right to say what he wants. I don't recall anywhere in the consitution a right not to be offended.

I happend to like and own M&M's last two releases.....they also pissed me off. What does that mean?
When you've listened to the albums let me know what you think.

Although I'm not a fan of Eminem, it is funny that he pisses off so many people.
To quote Ted Nugent - "Anyone that wants to get mellow can turn around and get the F outta here!! DO YOU HEAR ME!!!"

,,, Steely Dan doesn't go stale like Madonna's stuff does. They have talent and use seasoned producers who know pretty much what they're trying to achieve. They've done minimal touring over their span and had comparitively little promotion - and, they can string sentences together when they're interviewed.

I find his comment ot Ms. Cheney disgusting and I do not defend it BUT, what the hell does that have to do with his music or your ignorance of it?

It's ALWAYS great to see the Classic Rock bands get a Grammy.
"Reelin' in the years...."

I don't recall anywhere in the consitution a right not to be offended. Nor is there a constitutional right to call anyone any name you wish, thats why "fightin' words" are often acknowledge as inciteful in a court of law.

You want me to listen to a bunch of cRAP by a person who claims to be on the cutting edge and from the streets who is paid millions and rides around in a limo? cRAP music is one of the biggest scams perpetrated on the American entertainment scene. It is full of people who claim to be artists and look down their noses at the "sell-outs" while depositing a huge paycheck all the while. It is right up there with "performance artists" who feel that the only gimmick they have is to shock people. They have nothing to say. All they are doing is catering to white suburban kids who have white guilt. What I find funny are the people who still love Eminenema after he did that duet with The Velvet Fag, Elton John. Was that not selling out?
To: Paul Atreides
Obviously, you don't listen to rap, so why comment?

You don't have to live near that walking time bomb. I do. He's a jerk, plain and simple. He pulls guns on folks all over the place in the Detroit. He's a jerk, but a jerk with money. Big deal, he's trash.

Did you know that Chevy Chase used to play drums for Steely Dan but left because he felt they were going nowhere. Ha!

In fact, if you think "any sh*thead can do it" then try it yourself, and you will be sorely disappointed.Pfft:
Half a league, half a league,
Half a league onward,
All in the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.
`Forward, the Light Brigade!
Charge for the guns!' he said:
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.
It'd take 2 minutes to turn that into a rap song. Sure, it's missing the 4-letter-words, but I guess Tennyson just wasn't as talented.
To: zarf
Obviously, you don't agree with Lynn Cheney, so why comment?
To: Protect the Bill of Rights
Mr. M&M rubs your face right in it.....and all the while, in the real world, we nod approvingly.....unless of course it's then illustrated and simulated in a rap tune.....then OH MY GOSH THE HORROR!!!!
Americans ARE The Decadent Puritans.
Royal Hypocrites All.

To: Paul Atreides
Because I know the subject of which I speak, unlike yourself.

I forgot about that. LOL.
To: zarf
Its not that hard zarf, saying "f__ you" to Mrs. Cheney in a record doesn't require a Master of Arts in Music to "understand" that its vulgar and inciteful. Mozart "eminem" (enema?) ain't, a fart, maybe, lol....
